If Cook was to get sacked in the near future 22:17 - Dec 1 with 4440 viewsnodge_blue

Who is available out there that would take this club forward?

I'm not an expert on lower league type managers that we could attract or are available. But I'm struggling to think of anyone. Some of the ones that are doing ok won't be released by the club's. Ones out of work right now??

Maybe we need a foreign manager. Be our first.

I suspect we’re not restricted to people out of a job any more, so whoever Aston & co think would fit. I’ve no idea who they’d be interested in, but they can’t do worse than Evans.

I could only see chambers managing like Mick. Keep it tight and channel ball it.

HE didn't do great at Sunderland, but he didn't really embarrass himself either. If I was to pluck names out of the air I would perhaps say Jack Ross. 6th in the SPL with Hibs is another example of him elevating a club above their expected position.

Has MK Dons playing some truly brilliant stuff in L1.

Maybe. But I can't see MK Dons just letting him go.

Gamechanger are not stupid. They know next appointment is crucial to the club. They are transforming the stadium and want to attract as many fans to the club. He will be gone by New Year if we carry on current form, maybe sooner.

I'm not sure what's left to try. Since Burley left, We've had the wise old head (BFJ, Mick), the club legend (Magilton), the big name (Keane), the proven track record (Jewell, Cook) and the young up and comer (Hurst).

We've tried all the managerial stereotypes!

(Apart from consistently successful)

We’re always looking for someone to repeat their success elsewhere rather than a coach who will have their success with us.
We need to think differently. Who has a philosophy, a team around them that ‘gets it’ and who can engage players of all experiences and pay grades and bond them into that philosophy?
I don’t know the answer but they’re out there - just need scouting and recruiting.

Lampard turned down the budgies. He's not dropping down to league one.

Mogga won't drop down either.

AIye, I get the impression he doesn't have as big a soft spot for town as other former players. Not saying he doesn't like the club or anything, but he's always very mechanical when talking about his playing days here.

So, given that that they're above us in the division, with a lower budget basically, he's achieved more, in less time, on a smaller budget than Cook has?

We should steer well clear of him.

I'm not on the #CookOut train yet (despite thinking he needs to improve) but if it were to happen, I think Warnock as an interim might not be a bad shout.

Derek McInnes is still out of work since leaving Aberdeen - he consistently did a good job there.

Not the first to mention McInnes. He or Jack Ross are definitely interesting discussion points from North of the border.

Wasn't that due to cutbacks because of Covid? Hughton and Cook were both interviewed but turned it down if I remember rightly.

I think they both come with the obvious caveat that despite being successful in Scotland, they've been less than impressive in England. That would be less of a concern with McInness though - he took over a poor Bristol City side in the Championship 10 years ago, whereas Ross failed much more recently with the biggest budget in League One, which is the exact position we're in.

Not another Norwich manager!

Warnock would be the answer, just like he was in 19/20.

Mick-only-a-bit-of-a-c**t would have been an ideal appointment in 18/19 on short term deal to try and keep us up.

Then we should have gotten in a progressive sort.

Although I think he did want it after Mick, but the budget ( or rather lack of) scared him off. Now things are different, a chance to rebuild his name outside the glare of the Prem', a better budget and players in place. Plus he can keep an eye on his houses in Ravenswood, if he still has them! Would never surprise me..

I don't think Jack Ross exactly failed at Sunderland. He lead the team to the playoff final, then the next season he was fired when he was sat six in October. This was following a takeover and a team that was really not in great shape.

In all honesty, I would kill to be sat 6th right now.

We should definitely sack the guy who’s won league 1 and 2 multiple times and done well in the championship , for the guy who’s got a sum total of 19:league games managerial experience in England and 7 points better off after 19 games than Cook…

Makes sense

Lowe's not a bad shout but he seems to have the same problem as Cook in terms of having no plan B. He's also a bit Lee Johnson-esque, with a habit of going on long losing streaks.
