Ha - I doubt that had anything to do with Evans' decision to sack him.
It is laughable that Cruncher is given any profile whatsoever in light of that though. An Ipswich Town legend who dragged the club up in that semi-final, not too long after having been given any money to spend as a manager, was subject to that sort of nonsense from a small percentage of the fan base.

Once upon a time....
Apparently, Malcy's wedding was arranged to be at PR during the Summer and some (all?) the players were going to go, then Joe Royle organised a pre-season friendly. The worst newspaper in the UK also paid a five figure sum for the story which, for some reason, it didn't publish. [Post edited 17 Jan 2022 11:34]

I think he was due to have it at Portman Road and we then subsequently had a pre season friendly that day which meant he couldn't and he felt it was a deliberate act from club to do so, specifically Joe Royle |  |
