although it should really be after Nick Clegg who is the second best Prime Ministers we never had.

Just started reading this and I just wondered who y'all think would have made a good PM but never got the chance

Sometimes I wonder what 'Chaos with Ed Miliband' would have looked like...

I'm wondering why the Tories and their pet media have a fascination with people eating. It was bacon sandwiches for Miliband and now curry for Starmer. Maybe they're just offended by the thought of people 'not like them' having access to food? They seem to not give a crap about rising poverty and food bank usage anyway.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Hope Not Hate weren’t unbiased. As you well know. And they were decidedly shonky on the matter.

“His enabling of antisemitism”!!? Jeez, you’ll even lie about the EHRC report.

As I said in another post, it’s just like the Brexiteers lying about Brexit despite the evidence – and far too many people swallowing both sets of lies without question because they wanted to believe it.

"Hope Not Hate weren’t unbiased"

There you go folks. You actually read someone accuse Hope Not Hate of being "decidedly shonky on the matter" of a major investigation into racism.

Yes. They took accusations as proof and amplified them. So how is that different from anyone else that wanted to weaponise the issue?

On a related note, the EHRC don’t get much love nowadays do they? Criticisms from all sides. I remember you clutching your handbag in horror at any suggestions at the time.

FWIW I thought the report was fair enough on the whole. And stopped short of your institutional antisemitism line. They were under such immense scrutiny they couldn’t have if they tried.

John Smith without any doubt. Labour would walk an election with him as leader right now. He was a very intelligent person, a QC, & a great debater. Best speaker in the house at his time. A guy capable & respected enough to hold the party together. The whole country could do with another John Smith. Great man & a sad loss to our country.

Michael Foot. We'd now be reaping the rewards of 39 years of Brexit had he won the 1983 General Election.

This is likely before your time, but a former full time TWTDer and erstwhile gobsh1te was once adamant that old Footy had been PM. Then swiftly retracted that when presented with inconvenient things such as facts.

Happy to clarify at this point that I haven't been Prime Minister at any point either. Honest.

Talking of that era, do you remember the BBC radio broadcaster Vince Hannah? He was absolutely brilliant. Still miss his output in interviews, debates etc.

He died quite young. Heart attack if memory serves.

He played himself in Blackadder.

the ehrc are getting criticism from just one side. i wonder why that is.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

It’s a flawed organisation. Having said that I thought the report on Labour antisemitism was overall fair enough. And the implied criticism of McNicol et al was of course completely justified. Utter w@nkers that threw aside genuine antisemitism complaints — and Jewish people under the bus — for smeary gain.

As I said, one of the worst political and democratic scandals ever. But you know that
