Have we had a Glasto thread? on 23:13 - Jun 25 by Dubtractor | Is it just me or is the song selection for this McCartney set relentlessly plodding. Too many lesser known numbers at the start, and no energy at all. |
It’s really poor. Dry Cleaning and Phoebe Bridgers were great and bits of Sam Fender and Billie Eilish were good too, even though I don’t like all of her stuff. [Post edited 25 Jun 2022 23:25]

A late start today, but saw Chris Difford on the Acoustic stage was great & he bought on Yungblud who sang Up the Junction, then Glen Tilbrook for a cover of Rocket Man, then Michael Eavis who sang Send in the Clowns”. Then saw Haim who were fine, followed by Noel Gallagher who was typical Noel with a decent mix of HFB & Oasis to end with. Then Macca with a set which was lacking in bangers in the first half sadly. Knackered again & back in bed | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Did the big Beatles hits as well second half which made it more enjoyable. First half was a bit dull [Post edited 26 Jun 2022 1:09]

Bit torn on Wet Leg. Their first single got on my tits but haven't minded most of their other efforts. Also why does the singer put on an American accent when singing live? [Post edited 26 Jun 2022 2:12]

Before Glastonbury “I don’t want to see Paul McCartney sing ‘Yesterday’ and ‘Penny Lane’ badly”. During Glastonbury “Boo. Why didn’t Paul McCartney sing ‘Yesterday’ and ‘Penny Lane’?” Great set. First half of fan favourite deep cuts like ‘Juniors Farm’ and ‘Letting Go’. Second half of crowd pleasers. The real judge of his set were the crowd, who looked like they enjoyed every minute of a nearly three hour set.

Have we had a Glasto thread? on 10:03 - Jun 25 by Radlett_blue | I've made a mental note to be doing something else between 9:30 & 11:45pm tonight while Paul McCartney is croaking on the Pyramid stage or, alternatively, conducting "singalongapaul". |
I'd love to know what you did in the end. You missed a cracker. An incredible headline set. Just incredible.

“Letting Go” was the highlight of the set and I might just get my old vinyl copy of Venus and Mars out later for a bit of a play. The missus stayed up to watch it until the end and was blown away by Grohl and Springsteen joining him on stage, alas an Aspalls induced sleep had hit me before then so I’ll probably watch it on catch up later. Respect to a fella of 80 for nearly 3 hours on stage.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

We stayed until the end of Macca, it was good, but I was hoping for an all banger set as he could have easily done that.

There was a definite surge of energy when his guests joined him. For the non-Macca solo fan, the second half brought it home. Remarkable performance for a guy of his age,

Macca farting for three hours was a hidden track on his Back To The Egg album. Pretty disappointed he didn’t play it last night to be honest.

Didn’t think he sounded too bad to be fair, outdoor big venues aren’t going to be doing an 80 year old any favours in the vocals dept
