I don’t think it is big spending on a player though? Not in this day in age. As the fees are always undisclosed we obviously don’t know but sure there’s a few fees like that knocking about lately. |
I think it is - the fact we’re outbidding championship clubs to get him speaks volumes.
Sheff Weds paying big money on wages obviously but in terms of fees we’re pushing the boat out.

Big spending on a player in League One but regardless of spending this summer there is massive pressure on Town to get promoted this season. Owners won't want yet another season in League One. |
Under the current ownership, we havent spent a single day in the play off positions.
We havent even troubled the play offs. Primarily down to PC and his coaching team.
That in itself puts pressure on us. A good start is an absolute must. | |

What he says is right and not just last season, the last few campaigns it’s been a poor show by us. Some like to think we are a ‘big’ club in L1, so we are going encounter comments like this, but it’s up to the management and players to start delivering. It appears we are getting plenty right off the pitch, but the time is right to start delivering on it and I think many of us would agree if we answered Ian Darke’s tweet honestly instead of being overly sensitive. | |
