Hey moron, you still haven't explained how the illegal drug debate has anything to with you being against Covid restrictions. Do tell. I'm guessing because I agreed with the restrictions to stop the spread of the virus (which were mandated by science not the government on its own making them up) then I must be a hypocrite for not believing EVERYTHING a government says, right?! That's the logic in your head isn't it? Like Bob has said elsewhere on the board, better to shut up than say stuff and let everyone know how stupid you are (I'm paraphrasing).

Surely you can work out that you are talking about the same approach? As in ignore the Govt and do what you think is right because they are wrong - you just agree with one but not the other

The same approach perhaps, but on two entirely different things. He said "Oh this is absolute gold on so many levels! You've been attacking me for saying the exact same thing!" How on earth is it the exact same thing to say that supporting scientist-led restrictions means you should also support government policy on illegal drugs (or anything else for that matter?!) Or because I think the legalisation of drugs would of benefit - that means I should also be against Covid restrictions? What sort of logic is that?! Come on Joe you're brighter than this.

A Doctor, earlier “The reason we have drugs divided into legal and illegal ones is an historical artifact. It’s come about because people haven’t thought very rigorously what drugs are, a lot of politicians don’t even think alcohol is a drug. Because it’s not illegal, people think it’s not a drug…… There is no relationship between the classification of drugs in this country (UK) and the harms we assessed. We’ve argued a lot that the current drug laws do not reflect scientific evidence…” https://www.aei.org/carpe-diem/what-does-science-tell-us-about-the-relative-dang For fans of evolution…. http://www.animalcognition.org/2015/05/16/animal-drug-use/

Bungers, old chap, you'll need to provide evidence that all illegal drugs are 'worse for you' than alcohol and tobacco. Otherwise people might think you're just making it up.

Because lots of the Govt and scientist backed restrictions were clearly bonkers - go out for dinner but you have to wear a mask to walk to the toilet, if you come back from this country you need a test, but if you fly there then on to someone else and home you don’t need one, that you could work with someone all day but not go for a walk with them. The point is clear - the Govt and scientists make decisions, some don’t make sense and you can either choose to follow them, or choose not to, but it’s no different to think their scientific approach on drugs is outdated/wrong compared to their one on covid - both have clear holes in
