Boris Johnson's pitch 18:16 - Oct 20 with 6246 views | GlasgowBlue | "OK folks. You know I'm a bit of a rogue and a rascal, and I got caught out partying when I shouldn't have been. But look, I got Brexit done and Covid beat and the pound in your pocket was never in danger whilst I was in charge".

Boris Johnson's pitch on 08:29 - Oct 21 with 1406 views | BanksterDebtSlave | The media will like nothing better than to keep the psychodrama going. The 'Bring Back Boris' train has left the station....."it's what the people want" and enough mp's will see him as the best bet to save their careers. It's happening!

Boris Johnson's pitch on 19:23 - Oct 20 by Mullet | If he was smart he'd move abroad with his ill-gotten gains and die fat on a pile of money. But he's an egotist beyond compare and a scumbag, so I suspect he'll be back thinking he's Churchill again. Put him on trial along with the others and if he can beat the criminal justice system he can stand I say. Regardless, you just know the Tories will never capitulate and give us the GE needed because they know they will be destroyed. |
Interesting Churchill reference. The official 'man on the street' market trader on the BBC has just pronounced, "Come back Boris, your country needs you!" Buckle up!

Can someone please explain how Johnson can stand for Leader of the Conservatives / Prime Minister with the allegation that he misled parliament unresolved. ? Surely if he is found guilty he would face some sort of ban?

Johnson is on the move on the betting sites. Perhaps he’ll be appointed leader, fall foul of the inquiry into whether he lied to Parliament and then they’ll turn to Theresa May. Truly the banter era.

It's pretty poor stuff from the Ukrainian government. I doubt they would want us or others interfering in their internal democratic processes (in fact they are fighting against that at the moment) so they really shouldn't be interfering in other countries governmental processes. It's actually likely to lose them some of the good will they have in the country. SB

It's actually quite upsetting that there is a chance that a proven liar with no morals is the choice of a lot of voters. We point and laugh at the US but this is no different to people voting Trump back in after all the lies and investigations. SB

Boris returning would be yet another political disaster, but personally, I can forgive the Ukrainians for that tweet. It's gentle for a start, but more importantly, it's natural for friends to stick together in times of crisis and Boris certainly backed Ukraine. [Post edited 21 Oct 2022 9:57]

...mainly because it suited him to do so, otherwise people would have started asking awkward questions about all those cheques made out on roubles. https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/conservative-party-ru

The British government backed Ukraine. He went on lots of trips there but funding was provided by the government, not him and it continued after he left office. Quite an important distinction there. I think it's a Tweet in pretty poor taste so we will have to disagree on that one. SB

Fair does mr - I can certainly see why you've got the hump with them.

Boris Johnson's pitch on 10:14 - Oct 21 with 1230 views | blueasfook | It's down to the Tory party membership, and you just know they are daft enough to go for Boris. They went for Liz Truss so we know to expect the worst.

There is a chance only one person will get 100 nominations (Boris looks like he will). The other runners are so fractured that without some organisation you could get a scenario where 3 of them get ~80 nominations and Boris is parachuted in with no vote by the membership. SB

It's rather funny how none of them ever engage on the issue of Russian funding of the tory party. They'll tell you how Corbyn loved terrorists in the same thread as ignoring their party being bankrolled by Putin. Then they'll claim to be patriotic.

While I agree with that position and It was foolish for the Ukranian authorities to pick out an individual, they are grateful for the the military support that they got from the UK. Boris was the figurehead for that in their mind and in his usual way he personalised this support so they think he is a great person. More knowledgeable people than them have fallen for that ploy.
Boris Johnson's pitch on 11:02 - Oct 21 with 1177 views | The_Flashing_Smile | The funny thing is, Boris is probably their best chance of climbing back in the polls as a lot of the country still like him and think he should never have been got rid of in the first place. Or perhaps Sunak, given he dished out all that money for furlough.

PR is not designed to solve these sorts of things, as you well know Harry..

If that's the case, why didn't Rishi win the leadership contest against old Pork Markets?
