Hot Tub Owners 13:17 - Jan 10 with 3137 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Bought one in the Autumn, as it was half price. Not set up yet, it's going onto a reenforced deck, but I need to dig out and put hardcore under it in the spring. Has anyone got a thermal blanket for theirs? Any recommendations?

I suppose it depends on the broader circumstance. I hear that hot tubs are the 21st century pampas grass...

I’m nearly 2 years into my Peloton, it’s used 4 or 5 times a week by me and a 2 or 3 by my mrs. Well worth it imo.

Do you do the online sessions? What will happen I wonder when they inevitably fold. The company was still losing money handing over fist in Q4 2022. Can't see them making it through 2023.

Hot Tub Owners on 13:58 - Jan 10 with 2497 views | lurcher | Have you costed out the running. I bought a decent inflatable one during in lockdown, we stopped using it because of the cost. If you don't keep it warm it will take forever to heat up and then you don't use it.

Hot Tub Owners on 14:08 - Jan 10 with 2428 views | sticklegs | Yeah, we bought one 2 summers ago. Decided to stop using it when the cost of electricity shot up and I realised on my smart meter it costs about £12 a day to heat. It was nice to use unheated in last summer's heatwave though!
Hot Tub Owners on 14:10 - Jan 10 with 2391 views | HARRY10 | Our neighbour has one - it doubles up as a washing machine (sort of) and a slow cooker,* though not all of us in the street are welcoming of his surplus soup (the homeless seem to enjoy it when invited round). * not the same time [Post edited 10 Jan 2023 14:11]

i do yeah. No idea like anything that you buy or subscribe to if it folds there isn't too much i can do about it. You can still use the bike without a subscription but it's very watered down just a ride that you can dictate how are or easy it is.

Hot Tub Owners on 14:46 - Jan 10 with 2170 views | clive_baker | I got drunk a while ago, was in a hot tub with the wife in a nice air bnb in the New Forest and thought lets treat ourselves. Ordered one on my phone, it turned up and it's been sat in a massive box ever since. Bloody heavy it is as well. I've not set it up yet either because initially I never got round to it and the idea seemed less sensible when I sobered up and then energy prices went nuts so I'm loathe to put a lamp on, let alone have that thing bubbling away.

I always think this when on a nice break. Have seriously considered a woodburning one but always end up losing interest before ordering.

Hot Tub Owners on 15:51 - Jan 10 with 1967 views | usm | We got one about 5 years ago We don't have a thermal blanket but it does have an insulated top When we bought it we were told it would cost about £1 per day, but in reality it was more like £2 per day, probably £3 in winter. More like a fiver a day with current prices We now only use it at weekends, although that may change in the summer. It ticks over during the week and then we ramp it up Fri, Sat and Sun - if we are around

Wouldn't the logs get a little damp?
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

I've never seen the appeal of going into water in the winter or when it's cloudy, no matter how warm the water is. About five years ago I invested in a 10 feet wide, 4 feet deep above-ground pool with a metal frame, having seen them in Spain. I also acquired a sophisticated water heater very similar to an air conditioning unit. The problem is that, with the odd exception, we generally have pretty poor summers especially in late July and August, and I tended only really to want to go into it on the odd sunny day in summer when the water had heated up already. Hot Tub Owners on 18:21 - Jan 13 with 1262 views | Dubai_Blue | Got one earlier in the year and we don't have an insulated blanket for it, though it can't do any harm. My recommendation would be buying an air source heat pump for it rather than heating directly from the mains. And if you plan to use all year round, a gazebo or similar type of structure is a must.

Was sitting in one at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Marlow in a February a few years ago. There were people walking past with bobble hats, scarves and thick coats. It was bloody freezing getting to and from the tub. First and only time for me, brrr.
