How much does a football game effect you now? 08:38 - Jan 17 with 5159 views | Pippin1970 | I'll be miffed for that day but then think we will win next game lol. I know some fans takes days. Being middle aged helps as other priorities in life.
How much does a football game effect you now? on 08:41 - Jan 17 with 3269 views | Metal_Hacker | Few hours afterwards I'm alright , depends on circumstances of the game etc That said , I then pop on here and I can go one way or the other with some of the meltdown

How much does a football game effect you now? on 08:44 - Jan 17 with 3251 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Depends which game tbh. After Charlton this season it genuinely took me a few days to recover. As did the Norwich away game with Klose in the last min. But aside from those two, normally fine by the time i get home. [Post edited 17 Jan 2023 8:50]

How much does a football game effect you now? on 08:47 - Jan 17 with 3217 views | Slimitfc91 | It’s a game of football, a shrug of the shoulders, we go again, there are more important things in life
How much does a football game effect you now? on 08:47 - Jan 17 with 3219 views | StochesStotasBlewe | I started going to matches as a 10 year old in 1970. From then until into my 30's, a bad performance or result would completely feck up the rest of the weekend?midweek. My son is nearly 23 and he's a bit like my old self. Nowadays, i'm more inclined to put things into perspective, open a bottle of red and be more relaxed about it, though will occasionally still have my moments.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

How much does a football game effect you now? on 08:48 - Jan 17 with 3221 views | textbackup | saturday night i barely spoke to anyone in the house, miserable as fck. this ran into sunday, up to about lunch time. then thought i'd moved on until people at work asked about the game yesterday, and i felt pissed off again. really did prove to me, that no matter what my life situation, the thing that makes me truly happy is an itfc win. when Plymouth scored it was like all the air had been taken from the stadium. Coming out of the Cobbold, it was very quiet not many people speaking just wanting to get out of the stadium. It's been in the back of my mind since the game, it was a big game and we were close but close never won anything!

How much does a football game effect you now? on 08:56 - Jan 17 with 3058 views | CityBlue | I would love to say that it doesn't affect me but it does. I must have watched the game highlights a dozen times....still draw. It sets the tone for the whole weekend (for me) and I have to be on my guard to not let that ruin others weekend.

How much does a football game effect you now? on 09:04 - Jan 17 with 3013 views | bluelagos | Defo agree being middle aged helps. Came out of the Charlton game, probably as disappointing a finish as it gets, and watched some youngsters loudly cursing about the result, one muppet even kicked a bin over in his anger... At full time I was sort of mumbled under my breath a "ffs" and that was about it tbh.

How much does a football game effect you now? on 09:10 - Jan 17 with 2971 views | NthQldITFC | About a day to a day and a half for me. Lose or draw an important game and I have to stay off here for a day or two, or I get wound up by massive fannies.

How much does a football game effect you now? on 09:57 - Jan 17 with 2869 views | brazil1982 | If affects me for a few hours, especially if I have gone to the match. Unfortunately I now expect the worse with Town - last minute losses etc, and have done for ten years so it's more of "we c*cked it up again" than anything.
How much does a football game effect you now? on 10:01 - Jan 17 with 2855 views | Chrisd | When I was younger, it would ruin my weekend. Now I’ve got older that angst will mellow quicker. At times after games I feel I’m more philosophical, although I do have an occasional relapse! [Post edited 17 Jan 2023 10:02]

I know that's probably a joke, but jokes about self-harm aren't really all that funny...

How much does a football game effect you now? on 10:09 - Jan 17 with 2810 views | SamWhiteUK | Honestly I feel pissed off until I start doing something else, or someone else asks me about it. The latter will wear off in a few hours after the game and I'll just laugh about it. What's the point of being stressed? 28 here - not middle aged!
How much does a football game effect you now? on 10:10 - Jan 17 with 2792 views | unstableblue | I’m p!ssed off for the remainder of the day if we lose (which is rare) or now if we draw Pretty OK and upbeat after that as I’m enjoying the football. Poor entertainment and a poor result is where I struggle - ‘what was the point of going?!’ What issue for me at the movement is I am getting far too would up/ fire up before a game and during it… very invested in the McKenna and Gamechanger project and the players this season… perhaps need to chill out a bit!! Anyone else a bit too rabid this season??

I'm not upset about it, I was literally just pointing out it's generally a subject not really worth joking about. It's not all that funny and can have a nasty impact on others.

How much does a football game effect you now? on 12:19 - Jan 17 with 2470 views | SlippinJimmyJuan | I've generally been pretty good since McKenna came in, having faith in the owners and the management in the long term makes short term disappointment easier to stomach. However, Saturday put me in a right mood that I've still not completely come out of. Wouldn't have been so bad had it been anyone but Mumba that got their goal.

Well said Dan. I'm not upset but am likewise mindful of this. I won't recover from Charlton until May 2023 or 2024, but otherwise a few hours will do it. Not to forget but to move forwards with life unencumbered
