We have absolutely fcked this haven’t we 19:40 - Feb 11 with 45273 views | textbackup | Even a draw after pissing about going 2-0 down isn’t good enough. We were fcking top, points clear. This is an absolute shtshow, we’ll probably nick a 5th 6th place finish due to the sheer amount of sht we have left to play… but I don’t see us getting anything from barnsley Bolton or Derby, might nick a point or two if we are lucky, which really then gives nobody any hope that the playoffs will result in anything but 82726 passes then concede from the only shot or two we have against us. Absolutely. Just because Mick got us into the playoffs (by someone else fecking up on the last day) doesn't mean the football was good.

But as things stand, if someone isn't bothered if he were to go next week because he hasn't achieved anything then they just aren't worth engaging with |
Well it obviously it would be crazy not to give him the next transfer window at least. Though if we still in a similar position this time next year at the very latest then we gonna have to review the situation

We have absolutely fcked this haven’t we on 12:12 - Feb 13 by itfcsuth | A little bit over the top, we haven't absolutely fked anything, and we certainly are far from a shtshow - madness to suggest that. Disappointing run right now, will be disappointing should we miss out on the top 2, nobody would be happy with that. But these over the top meltdowns when things aren't going well are embarrassing, especially when you look at the progress we have made as a club under GC20/Ashton/KMc and all else involved from the days of Lambert & Evans era. We are 3rd in the L1, competing at the top end of the division with everything to play for. Absolutely embarrassing. |
Conveniently leaving out that 4/5 teams have pretty much caught us up. If you don’t think giving away the points lead we had isnt a fck up, and me thinking it is is absolutely embarrassing, well that’s your problem [Post edited 13 Feb 2023 14:10]

Have to disagree here. Its great when it clicks.. and I've said all along I love the footy. But it's league 1 and whilst some games have been amazing to watch. I can't say watching us stood confused against a deep sitting side is better than those I've mentioned.

Of course teams have made ground on us, we've been in a poor run - as I stated. We are still 3rd in the division with everything still to play for - as I stated. We are a good side, in a difficult run, but still sitting 3rd in the division, no need for the embarrassing meltdown. Lots of football to play, so much to play for, you've gone too early throwing your teddies out of the pram.

I did once. But that's when the usual crowd got to personal. One brings it up alot but never follows up and accepts their part in it. But hey ho that's life and I don't keep spreadsheets on posters posts or what they said 18 months ago etc. But no. Besides that 1 poster. I get on with everyone else really. Me and Joe never agree on anything and we've certainly gone back forth with things but you don't get any abuse from Joe which is pleasant. End of day we are all here for the same cause. KMc's football is nothing like Mick's. I would've quite happily joined you on the sofa for many of Mick's games, or more likely behind the sofa. I was very close to giving up my ST under Mick. Can't say that about even one of McKenna's games in terms of style/entertaining/attacking football.

Even when we were doing well in 2015, the football was still not great. If you can't see we play better football now (albiet in a lower league) then i'm not sure what you are watching. Whether it brings us success or not is another argument but we clearly are a better "footballing" side now. [Post edited 13 Feb 2023 14:56]

I didn't say it was like micks. Both have very different styles. But whilst the back end of micks time wasn't great. People are to quick to forget about when it was going right the football was excellent to watch. No different to KM football. When we are switched on. Its immense. But it can at times to as proven be very slow on build up and untroubled for the opposition. Ala cambridge. You're also talking about a new era currently. If you're still saying the same thing in 3 years time with no promotion for example. It would be interesting to see if the football is still seen as the best since Burley.

It’s helped numerous times over the past 13-14 years. But it seems a bit strange to still be on the attack against the players and manager now we’re doing a lot better than we have in this league so far and selling out PR for the first time in 20 years. A disappointing run for sure, although in isolation today isn’t a bad result. |
Saturday was a poor result. If a team has anything about it and is getting promoted these are the games you win.

You're saying they are both at times excellent to watch. That's equating the two. The "going right" of Mick's (in terms of great to watch) was few and far between - the turgid stuff was far more prevalent. You don't get that under McKenna. You only have to look at season ticket sales under Mick and McKenna. Day and night. There's a reason for that. "You're also talking about a new era currently" - well no, it was you who were equating Mick's time to McKenna's, not me. They're not comparable by any measure really.

Depends on your definition of better football doesn't it? Not everyone views it in the same way. Were we ballers no. But we played the same sport in a different way which was still enjoyable to watch ( unlike some other seasons around it. ) Similar to the football now. When it's working its great. Other times it can look like lambert in charge again and we're just passing it about for no reason. ( but not many performances fall under this, just saying not every game is amazing) But also. My response to the football point included Joe. Too. Could even say football under magilton at times was exciting to watch. Christ even Hursts first few games looked promising on the footballing side of thins. But that ended quickly lol. All I'm saying is people are enjoying it. Rightfully for the majority of games. But I think it's a bit to far to say it's the best since burley.

Nah, Mick's stuff, on the whole, wasn't enjoyable to watch. And I say that as a Mick fan. He did exceptionally on a meagre budget, but it's a massive stretch to say it was enjoyable to watch. The ST sales falling off a cliff is the clearest indication of that.

You only have to look at season ticket sales under Mick and McKenna. Day and Night. Well it's no shock the sales are high. New owners. New manager. Money to spend. Promotion expected. St sales and attendances were healthy ( for that regime) under lambert and that was after relegation. The expectation was storming the league and promotion. Again let's see how ST fare if we don't go up this or next season before that can even be used as a viable difference. Far far to early. "You don't get that under KM" Well that's not true. We do get it in some games. Some of those games were most recent ones. "You're also talking about a new era currently" - well no, it was you who were equating Mick's time to McKenna's, not me. They're not comparable by any measure really." What I meant was. It's a new era. New manager and people are on a high. If this project fails. It'll be interesting in years to come if this will still be considered the best football the club has had since Burley. [Post edited 13 Feb 2023 15:16]
