The pressure is on Plymouth 🤣🤣🤣 18:39 - Mar 9 with 12219 viewsGreenArmy75

I think we know where the pressure is. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Our wage bill is 30% of yours, the spine of our team is out injured and you’ve spent a fortune on transfer fees.

Our expectation is to flirt with the playoffs with a top 10 finish bring the target.

I think your manager has looked at the upcoming fixtures and the gap in the league and has realised the games are running out.

Ironically I do expect you to overtake us…but we aren’t under any pressure!

You are where you deserve to be, but how can you not be under any pressure? it's yours to lose now, that's a stupid thing to say.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

That's probably a racist comment or at the least stereotyping.

Not all people from Plymouth are Pony-worrying moor-dwellers with a penchant for sinking foreign shipping.

This one definitely is though.

We may be spending more on wages, but we make savings elsewhere, like living in your fans’ head absolutely rent free, judging by the number of you who like to post on here.

Just because you are over performing relative to your budget and we are slightly underperforming relative to ours just doesn’t change the fact that you are second, being chased down for that spot by us and Barnsley.

Of course there’s pressure on you.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Not sure why you’ve got some people quite so worked up, certainly not a gloating post, and much better than the goons we had on here from Weds.

Do you honestly believe we’ll overtake you, the odds are stacked in your favour? Obviously I’d bl00dy love to but can’t see it with the tough run in we have.

He actually said the pressure is "going to be on" you, which I don't think is deniable given the circumstances (as it was on us going into Christmas). Was an aside in the presser the other night rather than something he made a big point about.

“The pressure is going to be on Plymouth in front with the pack behind them chasing, but credit to them at the moment, they’ve picked up a lot of points and they’ve come out on the right side of an awful lot of margins and an awful lot of decisions and credit to them for that, and all us or any of the other teams can do is concentrate on ourselves, keep performing and try and pick up results.”

I don't think Plymouth are under a great deal of pressure. They've improved on last season and have so far been able to fairly effortlessly keep up that tremendously solid form at home, which is the foundation of their current success. No point in freaking out over something which hasn't happened yet, namely losing the Home Park mojo. It just comes down to how well they do on the road.

In reality, Town's recent spending and desperation to get back to our natural home (Championship and above) has put more pressure on our shoulders than Plymouth are feeling - witness some of the melt-downs after disappointing results in the last few months.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

People who use emojis cannot envisage using a word like excessive.

Just saying 'excessive' seems wrong, it makes your mouth move in a dirty, sensuous way.

I have drunk an awful lot of wine and it's only 7:30pm.
(I only post when I'm inebriated)

Different kind of pressure, I'd say.

If we fail this season, we'll come back as favourites next season and eventually our over-sized resources for the division will tell and we'll get promoted.

Plymouth have caught lightening in a bottle this season. Players are hitting levels they've never hit before, loanees have come in and excelled, collectively they're more than the sum of their parts. But when you're competing with teams who have 3 times your budget you have to make it count when that happens, because teams will come calling for your better players (and your manager) and replacing them is another roll of the dice that might go wrong. Sooner or later most teams regress to something that reflects their resources (cf. Lincoln City, Oxford United, Wycombe Wanderers, MK Dons, Peterborough United).

It'll be now or likely never for them.

Your wage bill might be 30% of ours, but your revenue is probably that, too...
Let's be honest. You should go up automatically from the position you are in atm. You are 4 years into a project, with a largely, borrowed squad. If you were to mess things up, one wonders where that would leave you next season. In that respect, it does look, from the outside, that this is a final throw of the dice, for you to get promoted from L1.There in lies the pressure, should you have a wobble.. We've seen whats happened to the likes of MKD, and Oxford.Who have knocked on the door for a few seasons, and then fallen away...Good luck to you

But if you do mess it up, I for one, wouldn't be surprised to see you struggle next season...

I hope your team are as rattled as you are.

I particularly enjoyed the bit about expecting us to overtake you. What happened to the Plymouth confidence? The fans on twitter telling us to enjoy the play offs and the people saying we should be more worried about Derby than you are about us.

Definitely no pressure on you...

Not quite. Our wages account for 54% of turnover.

This isn’t a throw of the dice. Final or not.

We are a well run club with the emphasis on the future.

We know there are Premiership size clubs around us and expect them to pull away from us. If that happens we will continue the project.
