Even if we’re somehow ten points clear at the top of the table in February whilst Norwich are adrift of the promotion places, keep grounded and mocking to a minimum until success has been achieved. Things can turn very quickly, as this season has proven. |
We had that with "Mind the gap" and "Blue moon, you got promoted too soon". Karma is always going around and around

Precisely this. We’re out of this quagmire of a division, but next season will be a big step up. One minute your playing Forest Green, 4 months later it’s Leeds/Everton/ Southampton (West Ham would be nice), who will all be a vastly different proposition, plus all the usual Championship suspects. Keep cool and don’t get twitchy if we go 5 games without a win!

Just reached a personal highlight. “Still think they recruited too much in January and it's unsettled them. All well and good in the summer rebuilds but January is usually about tweaking it a little and strength in depth. They tried to rebuild the whole team and it wasn't required. We didn't recruit much and have been consistent. “

Now they’re moaning about a lack of recruitment in January…

All the more sweeter on 13:13 - May 1 with 1848 views | Vaughan8 | To be fair, around that time, some people on here were giving up and saying the manger isn't that good blah blah. I will say I thought we were the best teams despite the results. We seemed to just get a bit unlucky with tams having a low number of shots and actually scoring!!

All the more sweeter on 09:52 - May 1 by J2BLUE | There was a lot of similar stuff on Twitter from Plymouth fans saying enjoy the play offs etc. To be honest, once it's all done, I would be more than happy not to hear from either fan base again until we cross paths again. |
The only social media i'm on is facebook, but on nearly every post about Ipswich from an outside source, you get plymouth fans commenting saying "what about us" "less budget and top" blah blah. They seem like the sibling who won't let anyone else have an achievement haha

All the more sweeter on 14:57 - May 1 with 1622 views | patrickswell | Looking through NOW TV earlier, they were showing a repeat of the League One playoff final from 2019 where Charlton beat Sunderland with virtually the last kick of the match, and I found myself thinking, “Thank God, we don’t have to go through that.” I shall watch the play offs with interest this year. Morally, it probably should be Sheffield Wednesday. I had sympathy for them for reasons that everyone else has previous stated, but also because we’ve been through similar springtime slumps in seasons past (1999, 2000 and 2005) which ended up costing us automatic promotion.

I ACTUALLY think that thread should be more something that we reflect on as Town on 10:40 - May 1 by unstableblue | … fans, than something to mock Sheff Weds fan base about (although that is also rather fun!) Around that time there were blog posts, threads all questioning McKenna, questioning whether we should bin the ‘tippy tappy’, that it was be the biggest catastrophe in the clubs history if we didn’t make automatics And all McKenna and the ownership team asked at the time was trust the process It was going to take time, we may well not have gotten promoted this season. But what? you wanted to chuck McKenna out? I was there at Bristol Rovers next to the group abusing Morsy… they were morons… same group had been abusing Jackson when warming up because they thought he was sh!t. Thank God things turned and we got the players to sort the deficiencies in time. But man as a fan base we were close to messing things royally up. Let’s reflect on that going forward, there will be ups and downs in the championship, it’s another level. Back the team, the club and the project. Remembers how you feel now. As McKenna says enjoy the ride. And also the old ‘well we have gone more direct! McKenna had to change.’ Argument. Listen to the manager we were changing in game already… but we were getting hit by a double whammy of low blocks and a lack of players with a cutting edge. Clarke, Lunongo and Broadhead fixed it. But they may not have been sourced till this summer. Patience. Belief… and don’t connect this management team with the amateur hour we had before!! [Post edited 1 May 2023 11:33]

Yeah, seeing our fans argue with Morsy, when he has played well in pretty much every game is embarrassing. Us getting promoted doesn't make it look any better for me.

All the more sweeter on 19:18 - May 1 with 1067 views | OldFart71 | I have friends who only watch their team on tv and don't have anything good to say about other teams. Makes no sense to me. Getting involved in tit for tat arguments with other fans of other teams lowers you to their level. Just laugh it off. We are promoted and that's all that matters. If you critisise the manager because your team is not doing as well as you think they should as long as it's constructive rather than destructive then there's nothing wrong with that. As Blue monday guys said the Plymouth manager had a bit of a lead on McKenna as he'd been at the top and knew what was required, whereas McKenna hadn't and due to injuries leading up to Christmas we faltered, also when the four came in in the January window Luongo was injured and the others had to get up to spped.
