Pisses me off even more that the whinging on here and twitter from our fans stopped most of us going on and having our moment.

Only in Ipswich ffs

What a thread, just what a thread.

Personal highlight is that it was posted at 11pm and yet at 8am I’ve been accused of starting the thread for a reaction without giving full and proper responses to 3 pages of replies.

My now 9 replies aren’t enough despite having a life and the last 9 hours being mostly full of sleep. Classic TWTD.

Someone near me went on the pitch with his young son on his shoulders, after telling him in the week up to the game that he would get on the pitch, strolled across from Cobbold Lower to SBRL, said young son hasn’t stopped going on about that since it happened and all the events before/after.

Even recreating the pitch invasion on his football pitch mat in his room with his toy cars.

So I’m told.

Inspiring the next generation.

Go and support one of those other clubs then if you don't like Ipswich.

It's fun for the fans who just want to enjoy it, but it shouldn't happen. You know that really.

It's called an invasion for a reason. Boring but true.

What a horrible thing to say to someone who has followed Town around the country in the darkest days we have had for decades.

Have a word with yourself ffs.

To me, the entire point of an end-of-season pitch invasion (which is different from all other pitch invasions) is that it’s a spontaneous outburst of joy and/or relief, a reaction to promotion. *Planning* an invasion seems a bit of a contradiction in terms to me.

Anyway Rommy, I get that you’re now bitterly regretting not doing something you badly wanted to, feel you’ve missed out. But we’ve all got similar regrets to various things. Instead of writing on here every time another club opens up the scab for you, use it as a spur to turn regret into a new chance to do something else you always wanted to do, search for or revive other opportunities, turn what for you is a lingering negative into a new positive. G’luck 👍

How spontaneous can it really be though? It's either the second leg of a play off or a game where everyone knows what is riding on it before it happens. I don't think spontaneous pitch invasions actually happen these days. Even at 4-0 yesterday there were people on the pitch with their phones out.

Truly impaired.

Only in Ipswich as you say Rommy. Happy clapping compliant ones. No fanbase in this country is as 'special' as this one.

Those who were whinging about the pitch invasion after the Exeter game are probably the samo saddos who had been applauding and clapping the players for the relegation back in 2019.

This is the fanbase who had barely voiced their displeasure/anger over the way Evans would run the club throughout the years. Again, only in Ipswich as any other fanbase would have let their feelings known.

If we all were the Peterborough fans these saddos would have applauded and clapped Peterborough players for the last nights collapse.

Only in Ipswich !

We’ve always been known as a family-friendly club, it *is* one of the things that attracts new supporters and makes us unique (compare with Leeds, eg).

I don’t get the point of people complaining about what’s in our DNA as a club (though I agree about too much complacency/acceptance during the ME era).

My recollection of the booing was to those two tits who were left and making no effort to get off and out.

I had no issues with the pitch invasion, but it was a strange situation, no last minute relieft (had we scored in the final 5 mins, the relief would have been palpable and more understood the want to get out there) but it was sealed before half time, so the game itself lost meaning.

Promotion, but no title, last home game so presentation lots of people looking forward to.

As it turned out, I think we got the best of it all, those desperate to get on, got on, a good deal of respect towards the club to get off in relatively short amount of time (bar the two big boys enjoying their big day out and the spotlight) great celebrations, great emotions.

Just because our pitch invasion wasn't as big as others..some are getting their knickers in a twist. The raw emotion for Wednesday last night must have have been something else. Still a game to play though.

There is a difference unfortunately.

We were able to plan ours. We simply had to beat Exeter at home and people on social media were weighing it up and debating the invasion. We won it in the first 20 odd minutes.

Where as Wednesday fans were preparing to boycott Hillsborough last night. They were at their lowest ebb. The scenes at the end was just pure emotion that nobody in their right minds planned for.

Even more so than our famous Bolton win.

I didn't boo. I didnt get on the pitch. Im in a top tier so could only sing and happy clap.

I thought the boos began for those last couple of tits seizing their insta moment, while thousands of people waited.

You've really got a hair across your arse though, those boos appear to be echoing in your head rent free.

Get over it and yourself.
