I honestly get why Johnson was a breath of fresh air to many people but there's no way that carries over to Sunak in the next GE. I think there will be a low turnout though so not sure how that will affect things.
Btreathe of freah air !
His whole being stunk of lies and deceit. Dumping his wife for some floozy while she was having treatment for cancer. Told another (Ms Wyatt) he would leave his wife and marry her, then told her to get an abortion when she fell pregnant, made another pregnant with child under pretext of leaving his wife .....
The reality is, many people are as shallow as this charlatan, and will swallow any lie as long as the person can make himself appear as a 'character'. Pulls out shirt, ruffles hair and speaks in 1930's Beano language.
The majority of voters did not more for him. Only 43%. Dimwittedly thinking because he has lied so many times before, he would, err................not be lying this time.
His time as an MP was one of laziness, as was his time as mayor, where he did fck all other than appear in umpteen photo shoots. That's if you ignore the massive amount he lost in absurd vanity projects, airport, garden bridge, buses, water cannon.
The clip shows that it was not just at No 10 that this contempt for society was manifest. I have met these types quite often. Some years back I was at a debate about foxhunting. It was not their defence of a quite barbaric activity, but their sheer ignorance, and stupidity of argument. No idea of what goes on in the way of preparation for a hunt. Apparently foxes are sat at home gorging on stolen chickens when the 'vigilantes' arrive to sort them out. Look up cubbing. Domestic cats are often used.
But, the responsibility lies with those you may be sat next to on the tube, the train or even the bus. Those you work with, who stupidly thought Johnson had the slightest thought about levelling up. Thought that food would be cheaper, VAT on energy bills would be cut or that wages would rise in real terms.
Perhaps Johnson will be along to tell Then fans that if we win the majority of our first ten games, we will qualify for the Champions league the following season. It was that obvious a lie.

Think Johnson’s success was more a combo of: Thick people being gullible to Tory lies Mainstream media manipulating the vote Complete lack of quality opposition

Like Trump, he was seen as something different, not more government business as usual. Personal character didn't come into it, other than a bit of chutzpah to ride rough-shod over opposition (which people who feel disenfranchised also find attractive).
However - and it shouldn't be a surprise for those who've studied revolutions - they proved to be even less competent that the previous lot. Radical ideas untempered by pragmatism so rarely make for success.
They were videoing it because the elite Oxbridge LSE privately educated political class in this country have no respect for everyone else.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Point of order.
Not even the majority of those who bothered to vote voted Conservative in 2019.
Electorate - 47,568,611 Voted - 32,013,675 Popular vote for Conservative - 13,966,454
So 43% of those who voted and a mere 29% of those entitled to vote.
England only
Electorate - 39,901,035 Voted - 26,893,297 Popular vote for Conservative - 12,711,000
47% of those who voted and 32% of those entitled to vote.
Edited to add England specific numbers

But that's still nearly half of the people in England who voted, voted for Boris and Brexit. That's millions duped into thinking Johnson would get Brexit done.

Actually, it is a point of information - but it does correct a strange claim.
Meanwhile, another Tory sex pest has resigned (Warburton) - so another by-election.
It once again highlights the need for more accountability (not less democracy). This odious slug opposed an amendment which required private landlords to make their homes "fit for human habitation". Unsurprisingly he owns rented property
Voted against a proposed regulation that would ban family members being employed by him, at a charge to the state. He employs his wife as his secretary
In February 2023, Warburton was claimed to have failed to disclose a £25,000 donation from a billionaire, to have used a forged document in an £800,000 mortgage application, and to have concealed an interest in a property firm.
Perhaps worse, he provided a favourable reference of a Mr Joukovski to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in March 2021. Not at all connected to an undeclared 3150,000 loan, paid to him by said russkie, via a Seychelles account.
What is it with the Tory Party and Russians giving them money. Cynics might suggest corruption, or Brexit MPs being in the pay of Putin.
Over a year after those allegations of sexual assault and cocaine taking this scumbag was still pulling an MPs salary whilst being 'banned' from Parliament and so never turning up.
Just as the loathsome Dorries who has not been seen at parliament since before Xmas. Has not officially resigned as she now grasps it would mean her pay ends.
Both these shytehawks benefitted from lax Parliamentary rules relating to second jobs. Just as Johnson did set up set up another of his floozys for life. Charlotte Owen (29) only entered Downing Street’s political office to cover for another official’s maternity leave. Yet she will now be entitled to £332 a day, free travel into London and use of heavily subsidised restaurants and bars. No wonder that arch ponce Farage has been so desperate to get in.
The House of Lords needs slimmed down. Remove the bishops and the celebrity Lords. End the scam of being able to sign in then fark orf immediately. It is an open invitation to corruption by those who have the power to appoint 'handy' people. Do XYZ and I'll make you a Lord.
Time some folk woke up to what is and has been happening.

err, it was 'done'. Just as the poor feckers who knew what it was about were done, and are now having to suffer along with the thickos who swallowed the lies.
And still the lying continues. Last year Rees-Mogg blamed rising food prices on “excessive” EU red tape is “pushing up prices”. The same red tape EVERY other non EU country faces, and the same red tape brexiters were warned about, that Rees-Mogg and others described as scare mongering.
That whine is akin to someone who gives up his season ticket at PR then blames the club for excessive 'ITFC red tape' for higher prices when buying a casual ticket each game.
Certainly not as drastic as the action France took with its traitors after WW2
(40 secs in)
but until this Tory culture of lying is brought to a halt, there will be more self harm done to the UK economy, and society.

Dorries hasn't resigned as she will want to speak in the debate on partygate, expect her to stab Sunsk in the back and highlight the disorderly state of the Conservative Party.
I was mostly okay during lockdown, but my friend went through a rough time with his Dad's chemo being messed about and him eventually passing away. What my friend needed the most at the time was a shoulder to cry on. But we all stayed respectful and kept our distance from each other because Covid was serious (well, made out to be serious to the 'public').
This is just a massive p1sstake. It's so p1sstakey that it feel like a parody. One rule for them, one for everyone else.

Going to be hard to stab Sunak anywhere today if he's run off to hide:

But the majority of English people voted for them. Says something about the current slab of little Englanders we have in the country. I keep telling my European friends that they are better off without us.
I’m sure that’s only because the alternative under Corbyn looked so unpalatable to so many.
Over and above the 5% the tories represent, there will still be people who will vote for them, including some of my chums, but many people won’t now these incompetent, odious people have been exposed for what they are.
They’re finished for a generation, as long as Starmer keeps his mouth shut.
The stuff coming out about them is not really a surprise. They are the party of privilege. The rules don’t apply to them. They never have. I’ve seen the tories far too close for comfort. The decent ones like Gauke have been swept away. What’s left is what you see supported by privileged people ready to step up onto the gravy train.
I’d definitely change the law to enable these people to be held to account. It’s about time public service meant just that. It does to many 1000s who work in the public sector so why not them?

I'm going to take that as a tacit endorsement of Johnson's behaviour on his part.
Lest we forget, he was convicted of breaches as well. If this goes through, what will be the odds of someone(probably one of Johnson's lunatics) trying to bring a complaint against him?
Also, see that untrustworthy weasel Gove is trying to bothsides this.

Oh god the fun in these statistics.
Liz Truss really was a fever dream. Never has there been a more spectacular case of political whiplash, surely.
If ever there was a need for a short one line argument against Brexit it was Truss's attempt to bring in brexit economics.
How long Dorries hangs on for depends on her trying to find another source of income. I suspect her tenure at kGB Views will end now she is no longer an MP.
I suspect tactical voting will play a big part in the three upcoming by elections. The video evidence released gives lie to the bloaters bleats about parties at number 10.
At some point in the future, people will ask,
"What the fck were they thinking ?"
Never has there been such a venal, incompetent and lying government. Based around an absurd idea that loading your businesses with a heap of new regulation/costs and removing the labour needed for the economy was a 'good idea'.
Johnson as PM as was up there with Gasgoines time as manager of Kettering Town FC.

They do have some explaining to do. Its like the plot from a 1960s Batman cartoon. A 5 year old could work it out.
I suspect the disgraced former Met chief Cressida Dick carries much of the responsibility for this.
"The Metropolitan Police is harbouring 'hundreds' of racists, misogynists and convicted criminals who cannot be fired due to weak misconduct procedures, its new commissioner admitted today."
It should not take much to recognise that someone who oversaw those weaknesses is not the best person to bring in robust procedures to deal with this flagrant failure.
It is going to take quite a while to clean up this cesspit of fraud, corruption and incompetence.
