Luton in the Prem 16:00 - Jul 26 with 4384 views | Perublue | What are your collective gut feelings on their chances ? Forget the friendly,we know they mean nowt result wise. They're going to be destroyed aren't they ? We've seen plucky little teams spending nothing and having a tiny ground playing a certain style of football come up from the playoffs survive.. thrive and also demise sometimes instantly sometimes over a season two with all scenarios.

Luton in the Prem on 16:01 - Jul 26 with 3731 views | BlueStreak | They are going to get pumped almost everywhere away from home and just have to hope that teams absolutely hate playing at Luton. Going to be a long season with them scoring very few goals I would imagine.
Luton in the Prem on 16:01 - Jul 26 with 3720 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Hard to say. I expect they will make more additions. really well run club with a good coach and ethic. My guess for Luton is that we will see them take some big scalps at home but also get some regular beatings away from home at the big clubs. They are certainly going to be in the relegation mix, they might need their home form to keep them up.

Luton in the Prem on 16:05 - Jul 26 with 3689 views | Mookamoo | They'll have a couple of good away days. Probably beat someone like Spurs and that will be their moment. They'll be down in March.
Luton in the Prem on 16:06 - Jul 26 with 3681 views | WeirdFishes | Part of me thinks they could be on for a record low, but then everyone said that about Blackpool and the bottom 8 of the PL last year was really weak. Rob Edwards is a good manager and their physical style will see them pick up points. I’m not impressed by their transfer window so far though, if they do go down I don’t see them having strengthened well to be a force again in the Championship.

Luton in the Prem on 16:17 - Jul 26 with 3551 views | J2BLUE | My gut feeling is that they will start strong and maybe be 6 or so points clear of relegation by the end of September. They they will start sliding downwards until they are bottom at Christmas and never look likely to get higher for the rest of the season.

Luton in the Prem on 16:18 - Jul 26 with 3549 views | Ftnfwest | Local to me and i can safely say they all expect to get hammered but results at home are the only thing that will give them a chance. Getting there has meant the new stadium has finally got the green light whatever happens.

Re "record low" - that's very, very low: Derby 11 points one win. Things will have to not take off at all for that to be equalled, I think. I suppose if two months went by before the first win, then it might just happen, but a packed stadium and a forceful approach should guarantee a bit better than 11 points.

I agree...but my cruel side also hopes they get 95 minutes of fame which includes a certain record no longer being shared by us with a few others.

Luton in the Prem on 16:28 - Jul 26 with 3439 views | the_toff | TBH I wasn't overly impressed with them last season, I know they got up through the playoffs, but I watched them a couple of times and thought they were a bit average. The semi final 1st leg being one of them when Sunderland were much the better side. Given they don't look to be strengthening a stupid amount you would think they're setting themselves up to yo-yo, and accepting that they'll be in a much stronger position in the Championship than they were 2 years prior. You seem to have 2 choices, either go balls deep like Forest or keep your powder dry but probably struggle to get 30 points. I think Luton are the latter.
Luton in the Prem on 16:32 - Jul 26 with 3408 views | Simonds92 | Nathan Jones to be appointed around November I imagine. I really think they're going to get hammered most weeks. They really struggled when we moved the ball last night and that was on a poor pitch. Although they will no doubt sit in in a lot deeper against the top teams, I cant see how they will cope with the teams they need to go and get a result against.
Luton in the Prem on 16:42 - Jul 26 with 3338 views | ElephantintheRoom | Quite nice to see a ‘small club’ rise from non-league football to the money-doping league while ‘big clubs’ like Derby, Sunderland and the franchise struggle and sell their souls. It’s only natural to assume they and Sheff U have pre-booked two relegation places - but they might get some financial security and come back stronger IF they don’t waste millions on dud players

They either need to spend a feck ton like Forest or not bother spending any. There's naff all point being half pregnant like Norwich did. Spunking your lottery winnings on dross and ending up no better off than you were before, just saddled with larger salaries.
Luton in the Prem on 16:54 - Jul 26 with 3254 views | jayessess | It's likelier than not that we'll be a Championship side in 2024-25, so for selfish reasons I hope the three relegated sides go straight back up and the three promoted sides come straight back down, creating the weakest possible division and giving us the best chance of going up.

Would it be greedy to want Boro, Norwich and Watford to go down this season too? Replaced by Carlisle, Stevenage and Northampton.

Why would we want to get rid of an easy 6 points each season?

Their away record was actually much better relative to the rest of the league than their home form last year. They'll go down quite comfortably but I don't think most of their fans will care all that much.

Has that ever happened? Closest I remember was late 90s when Barnsley, Palace, Bolton all came down and then Forest and Boro came up. Sunderland would've completed the set but lost in that epic play off final against Charlton.
