Come on Town fans - have to be better.. 17:28 - Dec 2 with 11731 viewsunstableblue

Yes I know it was cold, and I know Town didn’t always get out of second gear. But at times we played superb stuff and we scored a worldie.

And most importantly look where we are in the table and how we’ve been doing at home this season.

And critically look at McKenna at the end.. trying to fire up and get a response from the crowd to celebrate where Town are, to appreciate the amazing work from him and the players.

To have the away fans singing “2-0 and you still don’t sing” - it’s embarrassing.

Crucially we all want McKenna to stay, we want as many months/years from our superb young manager, and he clearly rates rabid support from his current club’s fans.

Today we were poor as a fan base. Jeeze the North Stand lower literally emptied by the time the players/manager got to them.

Near me, there are 10-15 of us singing and encouraging there are literally people completely static.

Let’s go full ballistic in the derby, but let’s not allow PR to not be a cauldron of noise, that inspires and attracts our manager.

Must do better.

Probably wanted to get home and in the warm

Also wasn't there a main road closed today or was that yesterday?

Can only say they were coming across loud & clear on Town TV audio (tho I did miss the first 15 mins or so of second half).

Not been great all season. Still can’t understand why the singing section moved to where it is.

But today was as you say particularly bad. Can’t understand it.

Perhaps I’m overreacting as McKenna states the home support was good on 17:36 - Dec 2 with 7347 viewsunstableblue

But for me it was flat given where we are and some of that first half play

Always disappoints me how many people leave before the players come round. Just stay a couple more minutes, enjoy the wins.

Our support in the stand off the pitch matched our 2nd half performance on it!!

Blaming the fans again is it.
How many of your Coventry supporting mates couldn’t believe how quiet we were?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

They weren't wrong either were they... Thought they were pretty loud to be fair, one of the better away ends this season so far..

Did say on another thread, I think the fans reflected the respective performances on the pitch for the second half - Coventry were on the front foot, pressing, getting the ball forward whilst Town were seemingly going through the motions and very sloppy in midfield and attack. Not saying that means there shouldn't have been more noise from the crowd, but I think that's why the fans were quiet in the second half.

Maybe the fog was damping the noise then because we couldn't hear you in Sir Alf and Coventry fans were singing nearly non stop 2nd half with their twist & shout song

The move has been a success I think. North upper could never hear blue action before, they can now. It's connected the two tiers. I watched the first half via a stream on the train (delayed) and it was loud.

Second half was a bit flat but it mirrored our performance. This might sound contradictory but I think we saw it out pretty effectively. Just didn't have any attacking outlet.

Couldn't agree more. Round us most were completely apathetic. When players get stuck in and win the ball back they ought to be greeted with a roar. When we produce the football we do, the stadium should cheer and applaud it (appreciate that's harder when everyone has gloves on). Instead nothing. Almost as if they're just sat watching it on the TV. Come on everyone, make some noise. Not just against Norwich and Leicester, but then QPR and beyond.

In my personal opinion I think singing sections have ruined the atmosphere. Instead of just a couple of sections I think the whole ground should sing

I saw my first Town match 41 years ago, and this has always been an issue. PR is never a cauldron of noise, bar play off games and ManU in 2001.

Think Bobby Robson also commented on this, maybe 'sleepy Suffolk' is a real thing and the people here are just built different from your city types.

The more we win, the worse our atmosphere gets.

Genuinely cant remember the last time I said anything negative about Town but the atmosphere is worse now than it was in league one. I’ve said it!

Not blaming anybody at all. It’s the way it is.

It’s weird because a lot of people that sit SBRL say they can hear block A, yet in SBRU it’s usually all you can hear 🤷🏻‍♂️

Totally agree, it’s the tedious dull songs we sing these days. Need more energy with songs like we had in late 90s early 00s.
