Like all forums they have some absolute weapons. He was playing for them aged 17!!! He's only 18 and one of their best players already. Would be a stunning signing if we could land him but some of Europe's best are very interested so it would be a coup. I don't think he will be Jude level but he'll be a top player.

Yup and we need to be prioritising on players who are prem ready or thereabouts.

He'd be excellent competition with Chaplin for the #10 role. Sunderland played him as a false nine out of necessity, so he could do more damage playing a little more withdrawn.

He's a very different type of player to what we usually use in that number 10 role though so we'd have to adjust how we play to accommodate him.

Why doesn’t he ‘fit our system’ ?

Ultimately he'll end up as a CM I suspect but he doesn't have the qualities needed at the moment to play as a CM in our system. As a number 10 he has very different attributes to the likes of Chaplin and Hutchinson who we usually play in that role so he's not a like for like switch into that role either.

Not saying there is anything to this rumour but generally speaking it may well be that our style of play has to change to adapt to the PL.
Jobe Bellingham on 11:38 - May 30 with 5780 views | Nutkins_Return | Any of Bellingham, Rigg, Clarke would be good signings from Sunderland. None would come cheap. Bellingham the best of the bunch for the here and now. Rigg is a top talent and played 21 games aged 16 for Sunderland.

Sunderland supporting mate said the issue was he playing virtually every minute - and sometimes as a striker - due to lack of options. I suspect his surname means he gets more scrutiny than other players at his age, both good and bad.

Maybe, but then I'm not sure making an 18 year old with no Prem experience the centre of our new style of play is a great idea either. Very good player with lots of potential but I'm not convinced he's quite right for us.

From what I’ve seen of him he has multiple strings to his bow. Excellent when playing deep, winning tackles, turning defence into attack in seconds, with an eye for goal too. What’s not to like. If the price was right we’d be mad to pass to chance up IMO. We are in need of athleticism in key areas (CM, and the 10 roles) think he ticks many boxes.
