Best since Stearman I think!

What a tackle that was, on Jonny Parr, who we ended up signing, incidentally... He almost ended up in the car park 😂

I wouldn't be touching him with a barge pole, just not worth the hassle - his absence really hurt us last season

Well, we were promoted in the end, with a ridiculous number of points. How did it hurt us again?

He's on a free now. If he's prepared to play for peanuts while he demonstrates he can put his issues behind him then I would be glad to have him back. I know this is the umpteenth time I have said this.

My only stipulation for Brandon Williams to come back is that KM wants him back.
Not to get into speculation, but I don't think he has done anything reprehensible. He just seems like one of many young footballers at the bigger clubs who is lacking direction. If his energy were directed in a positive direction (it would probably help to be in Ipswich away from the big city), then he could be a big success.

From all the evidence we have of McKenna we so far do not have any that he can deal with problem players. That's not to say that he can't, just that I don't understand this narrative stated by a few. On Williams is definitely give him another go. Pre Issues he had been shaping up to be our best player for a short period.

The thing is he wasn't disruptive to our club except for the fact that we could have done with him playing for us rather than being away. From all accounts, it sounds like he got on well with the other players at ITFC and didn't cause any trouble in Ipswich.

Our FFP limitation is no different to any other club in the league, with the exception of the top six or seven.

FFP is rolling 3 years. So factor in 2 of our 3 years currently include League 1 and Championship revenue.

There is no denying that it hurt us. It didn't have a material effect on us in the end, but if we lost out by a couple of points he could have made all the difference.
We were down a very effective player. There was a point in the season where the squad was threadbare and we dropped quite a lot of points. Williams was good enough that he could have won us some more points.
There has to be balance to our reflections. I don't think it hurt the team spirit at all. He wasn't really disruptive, more distracting and an annoying absence.

I'd only take him back if he was forced to live with a coach or senior player! Or maybe Luke Chambers can babysit, what's he up to nowadays?

We had to push Harry Clarke through playing with injury, play a CB out of position there and then have no relief for Leif Davis for times when he was struggling.

That we didn't/couldn't replace him in January was a massive balls up

He would be a brilliant back up to Leif at LB and also a solid RB option which where we could do with more depth.

Wildcard though socially.

He is exactly the sort of player you want to have in your team. Great work rate, physical, athletic, good 1v1 defender. He was really starting to look like a Prem player in the championship in his last few games with us. Just too many off the field questions to be relied on. Hope he sorts himself out.

Let's see whether Kieran wants him despite the off field issues. My bet is that the barge pole storage facility will not be called upon.

Kieran has been very clear that off field matters are not really off field matters. Quite apart from our increasingly impressive analysis and use of objective data, the more intangible elements of a person have been said to be crucial to our recruitment process. I do not think that the Club will be interested. The risk is too great.

I do agree whole-heartedly as regards his in-game attributes, however.

Without question what you are saying is correct Joe but were a contract with very clear stipulations and a relatively low wage to be offered, Williams would be a free, versatile and quality acquisition that would allow us to spend more elsewhere. The risk would be there of course but it could well pay off. Town would need the lawyers again on that contract.

Would absolutely love him back here, especially if a free transfer. Knows the club, staff and players well and sorts RB out with him and Clarke fighting it out.

Sign him up.

Get him back. If he's on a free we can't go wrong. Him an Clark would be a great right back duo. Let's Axel move over to his favoured center back position. Williams is young enough to turn himself around with McK 'so input. Potentially become a very valuable player.

I'll start by thanking Brandon for his post and for his contribution to our season. His part was short but he definitely made a difference, before unfortunately the things that occurred. Purely based on playing ability he would be a good addition to the squad as he clearly has premiership pedigree.

However I for one would unfortunately have to say no to a return.

This team is based on trust. We've been so successful because of the culture we've developed at the club.

We can't have players that we can't trust. And I just don't think we can trust him after everything that's gone on.

We're a band of brothers and we rely on each other. I wish him all the best and really hope someday he fully exorcises his demons, but with what's at stake next season I think that ship has sailed unfortunately.

I understand your view, but I don't believe in this one-strike-and-you're-out approach. It depends on the player. If he's remorseful, wants to knuckle down, and if there's nothing else bad in his character other than this 'mistake' (let's face it, we've all made mistakes when we were young) then there could be a possibility, which I'd leave Ashton and McKenna to judge.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Its not one strike. The number of points on licence and failure to pitch up at court show wider cause for concern.

One strike in terms of letting ITFC down.

Seems more like an advertisement to me.

Nothing wrong with that, just surprised so many people taking it at face value.
