The consistency has altered, it seems now to be more sloppy.

Disappointing.

No idea. I am ambivalent about Marmite.

Sainsbury's powdered instant mash, however, has been absolutely ruined. Now flakes rather than powder, which create, in essence, wallpaper paste. Foul.

Last year I had some marmite peanut butter on my crumpets and that was sexual.

That was lovely and stiff.

How can you be ambivalent towards marmite … surely that would create a black hole or some kind of blip in the space time continuum … marmite is not in existence to be ambivalent about sir … or madam.

Apart from walkers marmite flavoured crisps ( do they still do them ? ) the only way I used marmite was spread on my toast when having scrambled eggs … heavenly.

Marmite has often changed consistency over the years, caused by the availability of a particular yeast they use in their receive.

Maybe that's why it's a bit more sloppy now?

My dad brought over 2 jars of Elton John marmite last month, I did think it was runnier than normal but its been a while since I've had some, €8 a jar is scandalous!

I did wonder if it might be palm oil related, but looking at old(ish) jar of marmite, it doesn't look like it has ever contained palm oil.

But a story on the wireless last week was about Flora sales have decreased recently and the root cause appears to be they've stopped using palm oil and lots of people don't like the taste and/or the fact it's slight more 'sloppy' now.
