We were the 6th highest spending club over the summer. Our position doesn't align with that. Granted the premier league clubs have better starting positions but let's look at the summer transfer window. Was a mess due to the uncertainty over KMs future. Pre-season was a shambles and we started the season with some new signings not having had any or very little playing time. We certainly didn't hit the ground running due to the summer shenanigans, and we've been playing catch up ever since. |

At some point the manager has to start taking responsibility for our poor season. He's been well backed and has a good pay deal himself off the back of threatening to quit in the summer. Is he delivering when the club have backed him to the hilt? Can't keep putting it down to individual mistakes on the pitch, "fine margins" etc. As we know ultimately the manager has to take the can for failure. He's had £100m to strengthen the squad so I certainly don't think he should be immune from criticism. [Post edited 8 Dec 2024 21:40]

Yep because that exactly what's happening here. How dare anyone has some nuance as opposed to thinking the world is falling down and McKenna is a fraud.
100m was a great investment, that we used well in a lot of aspects. Omari and Delap notably. Greaves still has a lot to Give. But 100m doesn't change you from being relegation favourites. Our squad value is minute compared to almost everyone in the league. It's a process, that takes longer than a season. Thank god Ashton can see this, if some of our fans were in charge McKenna would be thrown out in February it seems. | |

Sorry for the extremeness at FT. But it really infuriated me. I just want to know what is he watching.

They say it take players a good 5 to 10 minutes to get into the game. So we leave it late to make subs sht can happen too.
And then the subs. I just don't get. And the desperation to NOT have a cb on the bench. It's bizarre. It may have been useful.
I'm so bloody annoyed today I really am. I've tried just seeing this season through but I watch football with a competitive mindset and its bloody annoying we re making up the numbers when ashton and KM gave all the sht about not being here to do that.
Honestly I think KM has checked out. He's signed a new deal for compensation for town and he's off in the summer regardless. He certainly isn't managing like he wants to make sure we are winning games. It's like development comes before winning and he's back to being a youth coach.
So fken annoyed.

If KM wanted to move onto a "bigger" job in the summer then not trying to win games isn't going to be conducive to that goal.
We can cite Kompany but that is clearly an outlier and not the norm.
It's not internally consistent, it's just a paragraph posted to annoy as many people as possible and to be fair, he's succeeded admirably in that goal.

Expectations were a bit too high after the last couple of seasons.
Whatever happens, McKenna deserves this season, and next.
It’s all well and good when everything is going well, the coming months are going to show us exactly how capable the squad is, how resilient they are.

But you says it's irritant of me to ask you to link previous posts. I think it's fair to ask. You all are bemoaning my posts saying they are solely negative. A stain on the forum etc etc. I've had the volume of posts brought up yet none of you can share the stream of negative only posts. It's because it's untrue. So much so there were replies from some qtrs of. Oh I like this new frimmers. Etc etc. So I've no issue people not liking this thread. But I don't like the lies that go with it.
What you've all seen is what I'm happy to go with is I post a mix of posts. That's not illegal. It's not against the terms of the forum. And as I said if there was a problem. Phil would have pmed me and told me so as was our agreement when I came back last year.
So. Yes I know there's negative in this thread. I agree to that. But after yesterday I wasn't going to post a positive post as I was bloody annoyed. Was the op ott yes. I knew that hence my 2nd post within in.
