KM massively fked that up. on 16:35 - Dec 8 by Swansea_Blue | Nobody was complaining and thought they knew better when he was taking off our main threats last season. The bottom line is we’ve now got no depth on the bench. He’s obviously got to manage fitness levels yet he also knows we drop the quality when we make the subs. It’s a bit of a non-win situation for him and he can only do what he thinks is best. |
So you don't change the threats. Well, unless they're cooked like Delap. You change formation, shape, add strength where there's weakness. Just altering the front four game after game isn't going to cut it. Cajuste for Taylor, Phillips for Chaplin or Szmodics. Or we could have gone three at the back too if we'd had a centre back on there. Ryorry called it when referring to a lack of flexibility - it does feel like that's the case at the moment.

I said at the time, with Delap dead on his feet he should have brought on Broadhead and put Szmodics up front. Szmodics still had plenty of running in him and Broadhead looks after the ball far better than Clarke. I'd have also taken Morsy off for Cajuste or Phillips on 65 minutes. Morsy wasn't having his best game. [Post edited 8 Dec 2024 18:36]

He has to be bold and make the big call against Wolves. Big salaries command big decisions. No matter of price tag, an admission needs to be made that we got it wrong. Bring Walton in and we’ll stay up. You can bookmark that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

KM massively fked that up. on 17:35 - Dec 8 with 1489 views | ArnieM | Just got in to learn we’ve actually conspired to lose the bloody game. It was 1-1 when I left on 92mm so, after that bloody CLOWN 🤡 Muric once again does his headless chicken impersonation to gift the opposition a goal. Just WHEN is McKenna going to grow a pair and drop this bloody liability?? For the love of god man, DROP HIM! Once again we more than match a PL opponent, yet time and again failing to convert our chances that go begging. For the first time this season, I felt we had an attack that might prove too much for the opposition, as McKenna FINALLY plays Szmodics, Chaplin and Omari behind Delap…. On the subject of Delap, he clearly has zero endurance as can barely reach 60 mins in a game. It was obvious his legs had gone yet it wasn’t until 80 mins that McKenna brings on fresh legs, given those subs just 15 mins in a game. What is the problem McKenna, can’t you SEE what 30k Town fans can see? We need a striker in the window with experience, we need another Keeper in if he isn’t going to play Walton, and also another defender, as I’m not sure how long Axel is going to be out, and we have nothing strong enough on the bench. But McKenna needs to up HIS game now … so questionable decisions by him most weeks now. Last home game his playing Greaves cost us that game too, when he clearly isn’t match fit.

Agree with both posts. Tbh this shows that McKenna is on a steep learning curve himself at this level. His decisions are be om8ng questionable . I know it’s now easy when you don’t have the riches of the Man Utd squad to pick from ( his previous job), and to some extent he is limited in what he can achieve with the squad he has atm. BUT, making the right substitutions and playing players in their str8ngest positions IS something he should be doing , and I’m not see8ng it I’m afraid. People say he could leave us and go to Spurs or similar level club etc…. I wonder if he’d have the same respect fr9m the prima do as in those squads that he has here at Town….the Man Utd players disparagingly referred to him as the school teacher, so I seriously doubt he’d get much time to make an impact at theses clubs. He’d really would be better off staying here , whatever happens this season.

Really? I think you have to explain yourself a little there Joe. We have a limited squad and are now in a division higher than perhaps we have expected or were prepared for, so the like-for-like subs that have served us (and KM) so well previously may not be enough and perhaps a formation/approach change at 1-0 up with 85 or so on the clock might have been better. Or do you think KM has nothing to answer for?

They say it take players a good 5 to 10 minutes to get into the game. So we leave it late to make subs sht can happen too. And then the subs. I just don't get. And the desperation to NOT have a cb on the bench. It's bizarre. It may have been useful. I'm so bloody annoyed today I really am. I've tried just seeing this season through but I watch football with a competitive mindset and its bloody annoying we re making up the numbers when ashton and KM gave all the sht about not being here to do that. Honestly I think KM has checked out. He's signed a new deal for compensation for town and he's off in the summer regardless. He certainly isn't managing like he wants to make sure we are winning games. It's like development comes before winning and he's back to being a youth coach. So fken annoyed.
