Muric will play tomorrow. on 20:25 - Jan 18 by gsoly | Why will Muric play? |
Because he's our best keeper. Walton surrenders possession far too easily and against Man City you're not going to get it back in a hurry. This leaves us chasing shadows and knackered after 70 minutes, then they move in for the kill. We can use our subs but they are not of the same quality as those they would be replacing. There is no denying that Muric has made errors but he commands his box, is an excellent shot stopper and tries to get us moving up the pitch in possession. I trust our coaching staff to iron out the errors and in the long term he'll be a top keeper. Muric wasn't bought on a whim. We will have been very diligent in our research and assessment. We paid good money for him and he has a long contract. McKenna will be confident of getting a return on that investment. He won't be out of the team for very long.

On paper he may be our best keeper but, to date, he has not proven it on the pitch. That's not to say Walton is any better but we've had two and a bit (around 60 minutes v Brighton) games where we've looked very good and settled, including in defence. I'm not sure whether enough has occured to make a change in goal off the back of that.

Walton's had the advantage of us playing a bit longer and doing less baiting of the press. A reset now with Muric allowed/programmed to play that way would probably be optimum in terms of abilities, but not sure if Man C or Liverpool are the games to do it in, and it's going to be a real downer for Walton. They're both doing their best in a very tough situation. Both have my 100% backing, unconditionally.

Me too. 100% backing. Sadly the scapegoaters will go for Muric if he plays and god help him if he makes a mistake. Mind you, our brigade are going to have to up it a bit to compete with Leicester’s finest. On Foxtalk they are after a bloke called Oliver Skipp who cost £25m from Spurs in the summer. Page 23 on: https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/135591-oliver-skipp-confirmed/page/24/#comment For example: ‘He looks like my gormless and harmless tw*t of a neighbour but slightly less talented as a footballer. Why did we sp*nk £25 m on that ffs. £25m!.’

This. I don’t think McKenna would voluntarily change after 3 games, but Walton looked out of it still towards the end of the game. What’s the concussion rule? 10 days or something?

If he’s in goal, he gets my full support, but let’s not pretend he’s being made a scape goat, he’s made some stupid decisions that’s cost us in games, there’s just no denying it.

Fa guidelines are 3 weeks, not sure it’s a rule as such though.

I thought Walton has stepped in really well. Two things troubled me at the Brighton game. 1. He looked very nervous at corners. Brighton actively targeted him and despite his impressive size, he flapped at more than a couple 2. He was caught on his heels a couple of times. Very slow to come out from really deep starting positions. I think the challenge by their 9 was a bit of sh1thousery but also Walton was caught a bit on his heels Brighton's keeper was impressive. Calm and assured in possession and almost played them in a few times like a quarterback. [Post edited 19 Jan 0:58]

Muric is also very guilty of surrending the ball too easily, against Bristol Rovers under little or no pressure he gave the ball to their guy for their only decent chance. Not sure Walton has done enough wrong for Muric to get the nod yet.
Muric will play tomorrow. on 06:28 - Jan 19 with 3213 views | NickITFC | Weirdly I was thinking the same thing. Walton hasn't really put a foot wrong but that assault by the Brighton forward only 3 days ago might just be KMC opportunity for once last roll of the dice with Muric...
Muric will play tomorrow. on 07:10 - Jan 19 with 3109 views | The_Flashing_Smile | Muric will only play if Walton is concussed (or still feeling the effects of it). You don't go changing your keepers every five minutes, that does nothing for their confidence or that of the defenders.
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

Well even the best have brain farts even Morsy along with some great performances has had a brain fart or two , late on against Leicester and the recent penalty at Fulham ! We are under pressure a lot and mistakes will happen i'm afraid.

If they do put high balls into the box I would much rather have Walton in there. As opposed to Mr Stayonhislineuntil the wrong time.

Muric will play tomorrow. on 09:44 - Jan 19 with 2388 views | FrimleyBlue | As he should Fans behind the goal need however to understand that if we are playing the ball across the back as requested by the manager. That means the gk will do so at every every opportunity and its the job of the players in front of him to read the game and be in control of what happens once he's passed the ball to them. If they have a defender on them. Quick pass to someone else. Not try turning someone up their backside then the fans moan about the keeper making the same pass hes done the whole half.

Why? KM confirmed muric was carrying an injury which restricted his kicking so with it being an important aspect of kms style it makes sense why muric was dropped for a bit.
