Things you’re bored of this season? 21:11 - Jan 19 with 5061 viewsSitfcB

I’ll go first…

The people leaving early argument, especially the people that stay and moan and abuse the people that leave early.

How about let people do what that want and just carry on with your life?

The only time it’s annoying when people leave early is if we’re winning or drawing

People leaving early
Letting people do what they want

Does anyone else find sitting next to a guy with his head in his phone more annoying than people leaving early?

We left early. About 86 mins. But I go with my autistic son, and he was cold, upset and hungry, so it was time to drift off. Plus we have a 90 min drive home, and a 25 min walk to get to the car. I’ve paid my dues with Town over the past 50 years of actually going to games. I am struggling to think how I could care less about what another Town “fan” thinks because we get away early on a day like today. I know how much this club means to me, whether I leave a few minutes early or not. BTW, incredibly proud of our lads today. Undone by probably the best team that has ever played this lovely game. We bring on George Hirst, price £1.5mill, they bring on Jack Grealish, £100mill. And the fans, kept behind the team, didn’t turn on them, again made me very proud.

You don't have to justify your leaving time to anyone.

If you decided to leave at 70 minutes then who cares, you paid your ticket you can do what you want.

I left on 86 at Brighton and couldn't care less what people think.

I left 10 minutes after full time yesterday because I couldn't be ar5ed to move.

This nonsense I've seen creeping in makes my blood boil.

We need some sort of table.

How many points do I get deducted for leaving on 85 mins as my son was unwell and cold but had gone because he didn't want to miss it? How many points do I get for barely missing an away game for 3 seasons.

As you say people should be able to do what they want. Were a few tutting around me yesterday when some others left with 10 left. Not a single one of those tutters do I recognize from the 3,000 of us that spend thousands of pounds and travel thousands of miles to follow the team all over the country.

But then again it's hardly the sort of commitment shown by those happy to stay for an extra 3 minutes at Portman Road lol.

I think, of all the things being mentioned, my genuine number one is the media obsession and hype over the PL and trying to make out every small development is an earth-shattering headline story. Particularly when it concerns the bigger clubs or bigger name players.

It's still *just* a football match, guys, as much as I enjoy it...

bored of the criticism of McKenna's team selection and tactics. Sure same posters would be happy to back to the dark dismal dull days of McCarthy.

bored of the phrase "he knows exactly what we need" as answers to valid questions on McKenna in this forum.

It is a phrase from a chant!

I feel it is perfectly valid to question McKenna's signings, team decisions, tactics. Otherwise what is a football forum for.

McKenna is obviously a hard working, highly intelligent, tactically astute manager. Who develops players brilliantly and gets all players behind his methods. One of our best managers ever, no doubt.

That does not mean we cannot discuss what he does and suggest he might have done things differently.

The way they continue “Hey Jude” when they should cut it and just let the fans belt out the song.

The people who leave halfway through the first halt to get to the front of the queue at the kiosks and then come back late!
When one member of the family has to go to the toilet everyone has to go!
The parent who tells their children to be quiet when they should be shouting their heads off!(said parent was corrected 😀 and she said “oh you don’t mind then”🙄)

The endless feigning injury that breaks tbe momentum of games.

The weak reffing re feigning injury.

Inconsistent and bizarre VAR reviews.

The sh1t cardboard gate. It looks ridiculous on TV let alone when you're in the ground. This thing is a proper Emperor's New Clothes joke that could be out of a satire.

Pyrotechnics. Ffs, I don't need geeing up before the game. Maybe if they went off randomly when players are feigning injury it could liven things up.

Jonny come lately fans yelling abuse at our players and moaning incessantly when they aren't 10/10.

The queues to get in.

Thieving dikheads nicking half time drinks.

Not being good enough to compete with half the other teams, a victim of our own extraordinary succes last coupla years.

Patronising and clueless pundits with even less insight than my mate who thought Kenlock was better than Knudsen :)

1) the security theatre at every game
2) how boring the football is in general in the PL. It’s like a stale, unadventurous game of chess
3) the poor refereeing and inconsistent use of VAR. Was glad to have Sam Barrott today, I think he’s a very good referee
4) Stupid kick off times on stupid days. Saturday 3pm seems like a distant pipe dream
5) The ‘best league in the world’ narrative. It’s not even the best league in England.
6) The media and the constant need to have something to talk about.

And about 100 other things

5) The ‘best league in the world’ narrative. It’s not even the best league in England.

- watching OH pick up the ball, and on the off chance he gets away from his man, he then runs into a blind alley and loses it
- losing
- watching the defence pass it between themselves when 1/2–0 down.
- seeing other teams so well drilled and focused that there isn’t much chance of a brain fart moment that we could capitalise on.

We’ll be good again... one day

People losing their minds when we are easily beaten by the top teams.

This season is about scratching and clawing for every point. 17th is the only aim. Occasionally we are going to get dicked. It's frustrating and there are no free hits but you would think we lost 6-0 to Doncaster.

This. Because we have had 2 years of winning far more than losing (or even drawing), people are treating like a habit and expecting it to continue. Perhaps the downside of consecutive promotions that people have lost that perception of stabilising each level we went up.

In my mind, I had (apologies) resigned myself to going down in perhaps a worse fashion than 94/95 on the basis that we've come so far so quickly and haven't been able to build the club to a Premiership 'standard' (on and off the field) due to the quickness.

But in fairness, we've done far better than realistically expected and we've not been too out of place in most games.

People need to get a bit of perspective that this season was and is always going to be a survival battle. If we stay up, brilliant. If we don't, we'll be in a stronger financial position (not to mention experience) to build for the next promotion push.

But let's not lose our heads with defeats and maintain the positive drive that has brought us here. It's been a great journey but this season was never going to be plain sailing.
