So we're wearing that awful..... 13:25 - Feb 7 with 6559 viewsBloots

....pink kit tomorrow and Cov are wearing dark blue.

Great to see the FA Cup keeping traditional football alive.

Used to be tradition for teams to wear their away kit at home in the FA Cup. Gather we're only wearing the pink as they're wearing the one-off fourth (!) kit.

It seems like a good tradition, along with giving away fans a fair(ish) allocation of tickets, - anything to reduce the importance of being home or away. When the FA decided there would be no replays, they basically made the draw harder for the away team, as matching the home team for 90 minutes is no longer enough .

I think nowadays if a game gets to penalties, the away team should get to choose which end they're taken at.

There were some of us that did but unfortunately the overwhelming majority shouted that down because it was 'being too negative' and 'talking the club down' etc.

Clubs get away with treating fans as customers because fans are happy to be treated so, which is a shame imo.

Wasn’t that deep IMO.

Probably the same section of fans who applauded when we got relegated to League One.

I don’t know why people persist in writing that some fans ‘applauded when we got relegated to League One’ as if it was a ludicrously bad thing to do.

At the time most fans were disillusioned and disheartened about the state of the club. Lamberts PR and the fact that the fans wanted to show solidarity with the players was why fans clapped - and yes, I did.

Some fans now use that as a tool to beat the ‘happy clappers’ with by trying to be cool and insinuate that they didn’t clap. Spoiler alert, most did.

And if the club is relegated to the championship this season most fans will clap the players off again.

I do think that quite a bit of history has been rewritten over the context of that. Most people on here were proud of that response at the time and video clips of it were shown regularly.

I don't think they were clapped out of the league either. It was more a sign of defiance as a fan base. Nobody was happy we were in that situation.

Totally agree - plus, if you look at the videos of the players walking around the pitch, most fans did applaud - even the ones trying to be cool.

I think something is lost when clubs choose not to wear their hone colours. For example I turned up to the last match expecting to see Southampton in red and white, but oh no.

A 4th kit v a 3rd kit tomorrow then.

....it's a rubbish shade of pink. It's meant to be "Suffolk pink", but it's not.

The fabric is really thin, it's basically transparent.

Plus the neck is awful and the soundwaves on the front are just trying too hard.

I absolutely love the pink shirt, its our most comfortable to wear shirt i think that weve ever had in my 45 years of buying shirts.

What happened to the opposition team playing skins

I remember me & 7 pals used to play football together, but there was never more than 2 of us who wore the same colour, so there were always 4 shirt v 4... oh, you get the idea!

I don’t remember much outcry either, bar a few old misers on here, The club has to move with the times, it currently has a big following of young fans and the shirts and training kits appeal, all the additional merchandise generates money, love seeing all The town kits around town and further afield i think its quality.

Nah you’ve got to stand up for the small things as they’re the thin end of the wedge to bigger things like stadium relocations etc.

Removing identity and tradition for the sake of marketing just doesn’t sit well with me anyway.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Technically, it's the recognised colour called 'Shocking Pink'.

I've got to like it given its success rate for us so far, but didn't at first. That liking could disappear with our first defeat when wearing it though.

It does have a double role for me personally - a 'football' shirt that looks OK when you wear it just walking the mutt etc. My fav for that though is the '22-23 red & black vertical stripes away kit - I always feel quite smart in that

I still can’t believe that people aren’t outraged at three new kits every 10 months. It’s madness how consumers have become so willing to part with cash.
