I heard on the news that the ex-Forest Korean striker Hwang has received a suspended sentence for his voyeurism offences and remembered that he had been at Norwich on loan. Not sure if they sent him back because of the offences or because he was useless for them, and no suggestion that they knew about it when they loaned him.
Had a look on the OinkUn for any comments about it, and I see that they're talking about a retrospective ban for one of their defenders who broke a Preston player's leg at the weekend with a vicious tackle from behind.
Their captain also got a retrospective ban (or two?) recently for elbowing a young opponent in the throat, and the not-so-likeable Sainz is currently banned for spitting on an opponent.
I think they also had to cancel their major sponsorship contract with a gambling firm who were using porn to advertise their services. (Or was it a porn firm who were using gambling to advertise their services?)
Notwithstanding our rivalry (and my admittedly childish dislike of them), they seem to have gone from being an inoffensive little club, owned by a quaint celebrity cook, in an ugly ramshackle little stadium -perennially unsuccessful yet quintessentially British in their yo-yoing failures - to a grotty, seedy and grim outfit. I admired their attempts, futile as they may have been, to be self-funding, and I'm a great fan of their celebrity director Sir Stephen Fry, but they really seem to have lost their moral compass recently.
It can't really be said that they've swapped integrity for success either.
I read that all the way through, and was confused at the end… you’re talking about Norwich, the ones that enjoy piggy fiddling and having close relations with their close relations but you mention something about a moral compass?!
Are you saying you don’t really care for them whilst surreptitiously taking the Michael slightly in lieu of their profound inability to read the room as such ?

The tackle was by their Captain Shane Duffy, who was banned for 3 years for drunk driving last year....and has been made captain recently.
Horrific challenge, will have to try and dig out a clip. The exact sort of tackle needs long retrospective punishment. He didn't even get a card in the game, awful officiating.

Before I looked it up, I instantly thought the ref would have been Keith Stroud or Gavin Ward.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was Gavin Ward. Typical fussy ref over making sure every free—kick and throw-in is taken from the exact correct blade of grass, but can’t or won’t make a decision of any significance.

Best I can find. 1.05 is the challenge and then at 1.30 they show it close up. Shocking

Only two good things to come out of Norw!ch, Colmans mustard and the A140! ;o)
Sadly the Colmans site in Norwich which was behind Carrot Road closed in 2019. I worked in the Royal Hotel and also Courtaulds as a weaver between 1969 and 1973. My girlfriends father worked as a security guard at Colmans. It was funny really as my Mum liked the Colmans sauces and he would stuff a few in his jacket and give them to me. They had a sale once of their Robinsons fruit drinks as they had taken down a warehouse on the site and I think the drink was being pinched so they decided to sell it for 2p a bottle. I loaded up my car and took it to work and sold it for 10p a bottle and I think the chap who was buying it off me was making a bit as well. Whether it's me I don't know but the Royal hotel closed in 1977 and Courtaulds closed in 1979, I then moved back to Suffolk in 1973 and worked at Suffolk Lawnmowers (Atco Qualcast) taken over by Bosch in 1995 and closed in 2019. I then moved to I.C.I. and it was acquired by PPG Industries in 1999.

That goal they conceded is as bad as anything we have this season, lose the ball under no pressure, no one tracking the forward and some very flappy goalkeeping.

Dreadful tackle from the very much past-it Duffy.
Agreed Steve, that goal is a very tough watch. Their structure is awful.
Tackle just strikes me as red mist. Deserves a ban.
Are Norwich in the equivalent of their late-Evans era? Only going one way at the moment. Remarkable they've managed to hang onto the play-off dream for so long this season but when Sainz and Sargent go this summer, they're in for a long 2025-26.

I was expecting a lot worse.
Even the commentary team only suggested a yellow.
That's never a yellow, Holmes feet planted and he kicks through with excessive force. The ball not even available to him coming through on his right foot was only ever going to kick through the player.
In real time its hard to see it all and think a yellow could have been given but football needs to issue bans for that to cut those out of the game as never getting the ball. Duffy carries on with his season (good news as he is a donkey) but Holmes may now miss the rest of the season.

I looked for a clip after seeing what he said on Twitter yesterday…he wasn’t even looking at the ball!!
