Though 56% said struggling, but safe/ relegated. So the majority were realistic at least. You can discount some outliers there as well, I'd say.

I think if you were to weight the results for bias as well, the numbers for relegation or struggling would be much higher.

Well we can't win the league now, apparently that dream faded at the weekend :(

I'd hoped we'd survive, just, but the Premier league margins are much smaller than I'd expected even among the teams down there with us.

There have also been a large number of fans who have said they hadn't appreciated just how physical the PL is. That underestimation will also feed into more positive expectations.

We're probably going down but I haven't given up home. Football is crazy. A little run of seven points from three games and it would all change. And yes, I know that seems a long way away at the moment. Got to try and enjoy the rest of the season. I know it's cool to say we're down but we're not yet.

Its no more cool to say we're down than it is to say its still possible to stay up. One of those is factual however so you are right to hold hope. I have the same hope. I don't feel its possible based on the season upto this point but if you're a town fan of course you will always hold hope.

not sure about the champions league, but they let us into the uefa cup last time because we won the fair play league with the least yellow cards.

maybe this year they'll let us in through winning the financial fair play league with the least money?
