I don't think you can blame Zelensky for how that meeting went - it was clearly Trumps/Vances intention to belittle/embarrass the guy live on TV, after previously cosying upto Macron and Starmer.

Zelenskyy took the bait offered by Vance, Starmer ignored him when Vance tried to have a go about UK blocking freedom of speech by asking Apple to provide access to all messages via a bs k door.

That was quite something else - clearly much personal ill feeling between Trump/Vance and Zelenskyy.
But the fact still remains that Ukraine and America still have a mutual interest in getting a mineral deal (and security back ups) - so am not about to give up hope of a resolution.
If things fall apart, Trump achieves nothing and looks a failure - so hopefully his ego and desire to be respected / have a legacy will push him towards a compromise.
(Not a prediction - and maybe am naive - but lets hope things move forward if not today, then over the coming days) |  |

I think he could have played it a lot better. Need a lot more diplomacy. Don't get me wrong I felt for him big time. But interrupting and to a degree with some language issues he was to a degree putting some blame on them (I think that's how it was taken with him saying trump was president during previous issues with Russia etc). Was never going to work with this red faced moron! | |
