I will seriously contemplate a vasectomy if I have one more child or in 5 years if I don't have another. Anyone got this procedure? Any regrets? Any words of wisdom? Crucially, any puns?

You shouldn’t have any scouts touching those bits. It’s not exactly bob-a-job week territory

Are you with a long term partner?

If so, maybe you could get her done instead.

Easier than having a tooth out , and you can have it reversed, try getting your pulled tooth back in !
Go on be a man and get it done .

Under local, I watched the op & recall thinking how funny it looked watching smoke rising from what looked like a soldering iron - but equally thinking, this should really be hurting!

For a short time after, they do swell up & I found a "support" helped more than just your regular underwear

Despite this, I never regretted having it done
I'd still say go for it!

Had mine done in 1969, had to go private as it wasn't available on the NHS back then. No problems since. I only had to look at the wife then and she ended up pregnant so had to have it done. It was far easier for me to have it done than her having to have a hysterectomy.

I had it done a couple of years ago, mine was fairly simple with no real pain. if you are sure you don't want any more children like I was then it's worth doing it for the peace of mind

Apparently the definition of a vasectomy is " Never having to say sorry once". Back in the day after two girls and getting a mortgage I had a vasectomy. I think the nurse was intersted in seeing men's dangerly bits as after shaving the fluff off she went around inspecting. Waiting around with the other blokes to be called through I said do you reckon that when the nurse comes to escort you through to surgery she will say " Chop, chop" ? Being a lover of horse racing it was funny that the surgeon was a Doctor Piggott. Obviously I was being what I thought was a sensible chap having the snip but there can be a time when it bites you on the bum in that I got divorced and my ex had a child with her new fella. Fortunately I didn't want any more kids and have completed over 30 years of marriage with my current wife. But it's something to think about when you consider a vasectomy. It is reversible, but I'm not sure how successful that procedure is.

Not much chance of me getting my missus pregnant again any time soon tbh. I'm clearly so good in bed I leave her satisfied for months.

My concern is it would be less chewy/protein rich for her when taking it another way. And that seems selfish of me

I had one after we’d had the pain of our son being born sleeping.. . And KJ having to go through the awful experience of still having to give birth and seeing his tiny lifeless body. We couldn’t go through that again, so I went and had it done to make sure.

When I had mine done I hadn’t thought through the actual nuts and bolts of who would be doing it.

i got gowned-up, jumped on the treatment table and was then confronted by 3 females (doctor, nurse and one other). Wasn’t expecting that (but then again I hadn’t thought about it being a male team either). Anyway, you need to be ready for some severe stage fright from your genitals, which takes some explaining in front of 3 females - and don’t use ‘he is normally a lot bigger than that’ because a giggling doctor armed with a scalpel tends to complicate the procedure somewhat…

Apart from that nothing to worry about

Clearly plenty of blokes have it done, but I've always thought it's maybe unnecessary in certain situations.

Mrs Baldy has had a coil fitted for probably 10 years, and for those that don't know, a coil is a tiny device inserted up her vag that stops her ovulating. It simply needs replacing every 3-5 years and neither of us even notice it's there.

No ovulation = no egg. No egg = no chance of getting pregnant. None. Without the need for me having my sack operated on.

Just an alternative to consider!
