I like him standing up to Keane. As I say, I can understand where you are coming from. It's not what analysis should be all about but I don't mind it. To be fair, there is very little worthwhile analysis from any of them. | |

I find the Carragher x Neville axis of “rivalry” etc more annoying for some reason. Richards and Ian Wright alongside McCoist at least bring a bit of love for the game to proceedings. Some of the cardboard mumblers that get a gig are far worse. | |

I think it's because I'm getting old and cranky but I'm finding the whole hyperbolic football scene a bit much these days, and yes Micah Richards is unbearable. Even the car ads he's on are infuriating, I have to mute the TV far too often these days. Some of the new female commentators and pundits are excellent though; I really like Courtney Sweetman Kirk on Sky and Pien Meulensteen is probably the best, most economical football commentator on TV, male or female. Some aren't, particularly a certain BBC presenter who grins constantly as she's talking. Steve Wilson is probably the best BBC commentator. Gillette Soccer Saturday is borderline unwatchable these days, half of it is ads for Sky, the 12.30pm live summaries don't work and the presenter is just boring, why they didn't give Julian Warren the gig I'll never know. Best thing about it now is the mostly excellent reporters they have at the grounds, and Harriett Prior ;) |  | | |

All of them. Just blathering on, filling time and adding no value. Quite why coverage starts 30, 60 or even 90 mins before kick off and the carries on for at least 30 mins after the final whistle baffles me. So called analysis is more often than not stating the obvious or irrelevant.
On commercial channels it is all just about selling advertising slots in the breaks, not even sure why bbc do it?!? |  | | |

It's absolutely painful watching him on Soccer Saturday. Can barely string a sentence together.
In fact, Soccer Saturday is a painful experience all round. I often have it on while doing some work on the laptop and the shouts of 'goal' etc as they try and outdo each other is excruciating.

Not pundit, but Peter Drury as a commentator just does my head in. When you only heard his commentary every few months (the Roma-Barcelona game from a few years springs to mind), he was alright.
But when you hear his hyperbole commentary after a routine finish, every weekend, it definitely grates on you (well it does for me). So boring now. |  |
