So is Tesla destined for the bin on 18:20 - Mar 18 with 4383 views | Churchman | Not in a million years. I never thought the looked great before that odious cretin Musk decided to rule the world. I’m not a fan of electric cars anyway. I borrowed one (an Audi Q something) for a day six months ago. It was a strange experience. Now that dreadful man is doing what he’s doing I hope they go down the pan. I’d buy a Chinese horror box before I’d buy a Tesla, if I have to buy one at all.
So is Tesla destined for the bin? on 18:28 - Mar 18 with 4388 views | giant_stow | I just had a look at the shares and they seem to be bouncing around some important looking red line, so in my expert analysis (no really... honest govt), if they breach that, they're screwed. Ithankq

Interesting. What is the red line GS? I’m curious now.

If it goes below the red line, Elon gives the orangeutan a call who will try and sell more on the White House lawn for him.
So is Tesla destined for the bin? on 18:42 - Mar 18 with 4239 views | Nutkins_Return | Think this has been done. I'm seriously considering changing as I can't stand Musk. The challenge is I wouldn't want to change back from EV and the alternatives are essentially a downgrade on speed, range and the Tesla network makes things completely stress free. They also drive fantastically well. Annoying. 😂

I can highly recommend Polestar. Ex Volvo's skunk/performance brand. However...now Chinese manufactured in a joint venture.

When the Chinese cars arrive you’ll have all of the above with a better quality finish.

And if true, the Chinese certainly seem to be on to something. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/mar/18/byd-ev-fast-charging-system-p Chinese EV maker BYD says fast-charging system could be as quick as filling up a tank BYD unveils platform with charging power of 1,000 kW, which would be twice as fast as Tesla’s supercharging [Post edited 18 Mar 19:48]

My wife just bought a Kia EV3 through her business and it feels like the future wrapped up in a car. I've never driven a Tesla so can't compare but the Kia is an excellent drive with a range of 350 miles (real life probably more like 300). Plus it has Kia's 7 year warranty.

I'm sure i'm nowhere near the first to say this but did Homer Simpson design the Cybertruck? Ross Gerber has told Musk to quit his government role or step down as CEO: https://news.sky.com/story/tesla-investor-calls-for-elon-musk-to-step-down-as-bo I do wonder if this is a deliberate attempt to drive share prices lower so they can buy more as surely he knows Musk's massive ego means he isn't going to give either of them up?

So in 3 months they have halved in value, but are still up 30% on a year ago...

Yes, and they’re supposed to be better put together. I wouldn’t have gone near a Tesla before due to the build quality issues that have been reported. I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole now. Not that I’ve got plans to spend that sort of money on a new EV any time soon either.

I guess if they find a way to oust Musk, the only way is up! I guess that's easier said than done though!

Well we will all be forced to buy one of the dratted things eventually. One interesting thing if you buy one is the rate their value dissolves. Partly because the technology, range and reliability is changing rapidly. Add in hydrogen fuel powered options, if they can ever produce the fuel cheaply enough, and the motoring world will look a very different place motoring wise in 10 or 15 years time. I’ll stay with my planet burner for the time being. 55 miles to the gallon, quicker than Starmer grabbing a free Taylor Swift ticket and a guaranteed 550 mile range. And it hacks off that oddball zealot Milliband. Hooray!

Given how hard CEOs apparently work, I'm amazed he has time to sleep given he is CEO of: X Tesla SpaceX Boring Company And then as well as that he's got DOGE as well. And finds time to tweet about random nonsense all day. And finds time to be a pro-gamer™.

Now be fair Dan, CEOs do take their phones on holiday with them. [Post edited 18 Mar 20:48]

So is Tesla destined for the bin? on 20:36 - Mar 18 with 3486 views | BloomBlue | All non Chinese car manufacturers will be bankrupt in 10 years or owned by a Chinese company. Nobody can compete with the low labour cost in China. It's time people accepted that. Personally I don't have an issue if the Chinese want to give us cheap cars because they can basically employ slave labour without any employment protects. Germany especially needs to wake up and if they want their car industry to survive they need to start lowering their employment protect rules. You only have to look at the loses the VW group made last year, and Audi also just announced 7000 job losses. Tesla will go the same way. Although one thing Tesla has which is still a large income for them is the batteries used in homes attached to solar panels
