Following on from the McGoldrick-inspired thread of Didzy talking about the modern game and its lack of flair players to get you off your seat, how about your Town "flair" eleven of players you have seen?
Players should be roughly in position i.e. no Didzy at centre-half etc. Most on here won't have seen Ken Hancock, but he was the most eccentric keeper I've seen for Town. Such a team might be capable of amazing feats of both triumph and comic tragedy. Danny Hegan would be my number 1 pick, but again, he was too long ago for most

I used to sit in my seat dreaming of Darren Currie waking up one day with even a yard of pace. Would have been mega!
He looked like he was wearing divers boots. A real shame, because he really could play. I used to wonder whether wheels or casters on his boots might speed him up a bit.

His FA Cup Final performance wasn’t too shabby either. Must’ve taken Pat Rice a month to unknot his legs.
Thinking of flair, dear old Gus Uhlenbeek had a bit of that. He used to barrel up that pitch like a hippo with a headache……..then blast the ball into orbit. Charge!!!
Another player with flair was Sylvain Legwinski. Only played 47 games for us at the end of his career, but he was a stylish player.
My memory of Gus was of him being faster than Usain Bolt, with zero skill or end product. I nearly put him in my team but decided speed wasn't flair. Has my memory been distorted over time? Or did he have flair?

I think you need to ask Gav. He was a great fan of Gus - NOT!

We have been lucky to have some real blinding flair players, JET, gio, Lawrence, Townsend, Fraser, even bishop had, great quick feet, encisio looks a tricky player.
Presumably you're referring to the incomparable Byron Lawrence (at Ipswich Wanderers now and still in his 20s), Scott Fraser (back in Dundee and still in his 20s), and Conor Townsend (solid, but by no means even our flairiest current left back).
Either that or your list is quite loan-heavy. Still, if a list has Gio in it, it's alright by me.

Byron Lawrence actually left Wanderers, apparently retired, earlier this season.
He only came back in October but left again by mid November.

Gus had a spell when he was dropped deeper by Burley and played at RWB (and possibly even full back) and was very effective there. The position gave him more space to charge into and it worked better as he didn't have a good enough touch to play in tight spaces.
His crossing could be hit-or-miss but he had more than a few good games for us. But sadly, plenty where the his crosses ended up deep in the North to collective groans.

He’d start in our penalty area and go roaring up the pitch like the Cannonball Express (a steamin’ an a rollin’) without Fireman Wally. It was a sight to behold. Hilarious, not least because you know what the outcome would be. The ball thundering over the bar.
I swear without the stands, he’d never have stopped. In fact, he’d still be going! According to Wiki he made 94 appearances and actually scored four times. I don’t remember any of them tbh, but I doubt they were tap ins.
After us, he went to Fulham. I was working with an avid Flum fan at the time and described him pretty much as above. The Monday after he first saw him play he came in to work, laughed and just said ‘yep’
Flair? No not really. He had a certain style though and was unforgettable to those that saw him on the charge.
Not in the same class as some of the other CM’s mentioned above, but Jammer could play a bit. His flair was pinging unbelievable passes and outlandish control, so more for the connoisseur than a bums off seats player. An honourable mention, but you really want Muhren and Dyer as the middle pairing in a flair 11.
Danny Hegan... at his most majestic unplayable, but then there were other moments that balanced it out.
Kevin Beattie ...best player we ever had.
Clive Woods: worth the admission price; not just the skill but he worked so hard for the team and never gave up.
Now I will just put this out there: Armando Dobra
Now as evidence of his flair I will put it out there that KM released him because Dobs seemed not to be able to become a robot. "Street Footballer" was the label No blame or disgrace as we've done pretty well without him and although he pulls up a few trees for Chesterfield it's doubtful that he would fit in the EPL

Hladky Taricco Osman Beattie Cresswell Reuser Dozzell Thjjssen Muhren McGoldrick Pablo
Massive fan of Currie though
I did wonder when someone was going to post our two greatest midfielders ever. Well done sir!
I feel sorry for the younger Town fans that have never witnessed the likes of . Beattie. Thyseen, Muhren, Wark,(39 goals from midfield in one season!) Mariner,

Muhren is my favourite ever Town player. He was absolutely superb given that he was of course, one-footed. His left foot was a wand.
Jimmy Robertson. "Skin 'im Jimmy" Muhren of course. The football equivalent of cricket's David Gower. Clive Woods. And, I suspect a few of our current crop may be included in a future list.

Yes, he was all of that. He once said Thyssen was the better player. He may be right. I can still recall our game vs the scum at Carrot Road. It was Thyssen's final game for Town were running rings round them, as we so often did in those days, and were a few goals to the good. A Town player passed him the ball, and ge ran to the by line in front of us, and literally just took the piss out of FOUR narwich players, who tried the get the ball offhim. He " beat" them time and time again to chants in the end of "ole" from static Toen fans. He kept the ball for a couple of mins tbh . He didn't lose it, and when he'd had enough of taking them on, he stroked to ball back to another Town midfielder. Those really were the days... ....
