From where I was sat it looked deliberate to me and it struck me as being borne out of frustration.

Even the Arsenal manager didn't think it was deliberate.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

It was a red card challenge all day long which I had a perfect view of and knew what was coming.

Ref/VAR said it was high and excessive force. It was neither of those things.

😂😂😂 wasn’t late, the ball had left Saka and Leif got his trailing leg. But yeah, I must use my eyes

He knew exactly what he was doing.

Not sure you understand what late is then is all I can say. Leif's lunge comes in at the same time as Saka plays the ball. I'll add a please onto use your eyes. Do you think it was either high or excessive force? as those are the reasons given by the Ref and VAR.

Arteta himself has now said he didn't think it looked deliberate. What is it throughout Leif's hundred odd games that has led you to the conclusion he would rake someone from behind out of frustration? Do tell me.

It was out of character but maybe there was an element of frustration given we were 2-0 down so early in the game. And he didn't need to make the challenge.

Anyway, I can only see it as I saw it and I was directly behind the incident, in contrast to Arteta, although neither of us can really know Davis' intent.

Trust me I've played at a higher level than you, and let me guess you've played more football than Arteta too lol. If you're whipping that old one out you must really be getting desperate.

If we're talking pantomime, I'm all for giving someone like Cucurella all the stick he deserves, but it doesn't strike me Saka is that type of player.

He was today from what I saw albeit from a long way away and with my blue eyed bias. The fuss, the action, the furore - I thought it was blanket and air ambulance time. But just after the red card he was off like Usain Bolt. A blur from afar. Not bad from somebody rolling about two minutes earlier. That’s why he got an earful from me.

He made a meal of it pure and simple, regardless of whether the challenge deserved a red card. He deserved the stick he got and I’m sure he’s man enough to deal with it. When alls said and done, he’s a truly terrific player and showed it at times today.

It’s just how I and all around me saw it at the time.

It was a bit silly given Var reviewed it. Sometimes though having a pantomime villain can at least galvanise a crowd. I gave Saka a clap when he came off. Not that he noticed.

My opinion as someone who was working today so not at the game - a definite red card.

I suspended our in play odds in live time as I’d thought it was a red. One replay later and it was a certainty. Wasn’t at all surprised when he then got sent off.

Right decision.

Booing Saka was abit weird though. Albeit I did chuckle

Wasn’t deliberate. Was just mistimed.

It’s still a red card all day though in the premier league

No problem with that, red card and stick every time.

What was worse was the racist abuse he received from an angry man who needs therapy in the lower North.

Thankfully it was reported and the police are looking into it.

Where abouts in the north lower? Lots of booing and anger near me but nothing like that as far as I could hear in S6.

I was thinking that Arsenal didn't engage in as much play-acting as some other teams we had played, but then I realised they were so good that we generally couldn't anywhere near them to foul them.

Few thoughts.

In the stadium, block J so a fair way away I thought Saka made a meal of it. With him then running around ok, seemed to reinforce that view.

I didn't boo him, simply because we have VAR. One of the few benefits is that someone takes a second look and given no clear and obvious error - I guessed it was worse than it looked.

Having seen it on MOTD2 - it's a red card all day long. Was a long way from the ball and the only person who knows if there was intent is Leif.

People saying Saka made a meal of it are talking nonsense - although that is exactly what I thought at the time.

Booing him - can see why you would. Guess if people are still doubling down now, having seen the TV replays - well "blue tinted glasses" and all that but come on...

Posting from the north stand, didn't look like a booking even from here.

Cajuste fouled twice trying to escape with the ball not given. Johnson (I think?) crumpled on halfway from behind, foul no card. Arsenal wasting time at 1-0, no interest from the ref.

In short, he's done us zero favours and contributed to us having no chance to get any kind of foothold in the game.

Players are instructed to make a meal of any challenge that might con the ref. We use to get upset at Italian teams doing it years ago. Now it's a part of PL football, including at Ipswich.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

Booing Saka on 10:21 - Apr 21 with 429 viewsm14_blue

Stupid tackle and deserved a red card IMO.

Saka made a meal of it but so would most players these days.

The booing was a bit silly (easy to say when watching it on TV) but football crowds are a bit silly and it would have happened at every single ground in the country. I've seen an Arsenal fan compare it to Stoke fans booing Ramsey after Shawcross shattered his leg, now that really is silly.

I wouldn't waste time being embarrassed about it. Our fans have generally been great this season.

Did he make a meal of it though? With a Champions League final in the offing, perhaps he could not be sure at first how serious it was because it certainly seemed to cause him pain.

I'm not sure how jumping 3 foot in the air and arching your back helps that pain.

I can understand why there's a debate around whether it should be a red (or whether it would've been red if an Arsenal player was the offender) but I don't think there's any debate he made a meal of it.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Booing a player only makes him want to up his performance and give it back in spades in my opinion, however it’s not like it doesn’t happen at nearly every game in every league is it?
All this ‘embarrassment’ and outrage at our own supporters on songs sung etc is frankly far more embarrassing on here than a few booing at a game!
I’m sure the oldies can point to far more ‘nasty’ songs sung in the past.
