Fiery atmosphere? There was a pantomime villain for half an hour. It’s dead, which is hardly surprising considering it’s been a stroll since the opening minute
You forgot our fans occasionally trying to bait them by singing ‘2nd again ole ole’ (this was fans from a team with 1 home win all season)
It's a yellow all day long, you see countless challenges like that each and every weekend without similar punishment. I can bet you'll struggle to find many examples of similar conclusions to the same kind fouls in any games this season.
I'm not blaming the ref/VAR for our poor performance, I don't think it's been anything but pretty crap to be honest but it's unhelpful by any of our own to see that decision as anything other than rather harsh.
I will be generous and say that in the lower divisions, a yellow might have been issued.
I think the issue was just before that Merino went down and rolled around like he'd been poleaxed - not for the first time either. So when Saka did the same the first response, as there was no chance of another look, was "Same old Arsenal, always cheating". Saka getting up and running around doubled down on that. But the majority of those in the fans won't be watching replays, with tribalism taking affect.
The local journos, the national journos, the neutral fans and even Spurs fans all think it was a red. The only ones who do not think it is, is some Town fans.
Why do you think this is? Could everyone hate us and love Arsenal or could you be wrong?
Answer the question properly and directly this time.
Unlike you I have no access to all the national and local sports journalists. Nor perhaps do I have the same insight as you claim to the opinion of Spurs fans. I do, however, have a good friend who is a Spurs fan and some relatives who are Arsenal fans and none of them think it was a red card offence.
You're probably not old enough to remember Tony Vaughan, against Charlton i think, we were losing, he was ticked off, did a classic tackle completely wiped the opposition player out, left him lying on the pitch, didn't even wait for the ref to card him, just walked off down the tunnel.
Like I said, it was a reckless challenge. Saka wasn't injured so nothing to apologise for.
Oh come on, being raked down the achilles tendon is very painful, but does not usually do lasting damage. I think a booking would have sufficed though.
Posting from the north stand, didn't look like a booking even from here.
Cajuste fouled twice trying to escape with the ball not given. Johnson (I think?) crumpled on halfway from behind, foul no card. Arsenal wasting time at 1-0, no interest from the ref.
In short, he's done us zero favours and contributed to us having no chance to get any kind of foothold in the game.

From upper north and directly in line, it looked like a sending off to me because it was a niggly, petulant, reckless and unnecessary foul which injured Saka.
The vast majority of the crowd booed Saka which I thought was completely inappropriate and didn't reflect well on us.
Was never a red card. You see that challenge at least 5 times a weekend in the Prem, and it’s never a red. If it was Rice et al from Arsenal making that challenge, it’s a yellow at worst.
That said, I never understand the ‘you let your country down’ chants. Odd.

I got a downvote for this but this video doesn't show the foul or the crowd reaction in a good light.
