I think he's the ultimate 'passable in the Premier League but would be very very useful in the Championship' player. Based on Tuanzebe's injury record and Clarke still not quite being good enough as first choice (IMO) and not being squeaky clean injury-wise himself, I think we'd be mad to let Johnson go, unless it was indeed a big offer.

Sale of Ben Johnson funding next seasons championship rebuild. Never saw that coming.

....based on playing a season in "the best league in the world" is utterly ludicrous. You could do that with basically all of the squad, but because he wasn't involved in the promotions he gets the "I'll drive him there" treatment. I'd expect him to be top class in the Championship, and we really don't want to have to replace him. We've got enough business to do.

He can go just on the evidence of his second booking on Saturday. Whatever the rights or wrongs of the first yellow, to do what he did for the second one just seven minutes later was fecking stupid, McK must have been livid.

I take it you think the same of Axel, and you'd be happy for him to leave too then?

No, because he has proved his worth in many other games. Johnson has been adequate at best in some, and under par in others.

Ben Johnson on 21:09 - Apr 29 with 3603 views | Pique | Hope he stays. He would absolutely dominate in the Championship. Would prefer to keep him and Tuanzebe and get a fee for Harry Clarke personally.
