I've never watched it in my life and having asked many people fromdifferent walks of life, black and white rich and poor, nobody watches it. I do not understand how it survives?? Do you watch the rubbish?

I grew out of it when I was about 8. Any adult who watches this program needs to seriously question their life choices.
You know what?
Its not for me. But adults who lose the ability to appreciate a bit of childish fun or get sniffy about others enjoying what they enjoy, probably ought to consider life choices

Then you said you were tempted to add Dolly to it but it seems you don't know your facts.
You can't add a third member to a duo.
To be honest I'm surprised since you seem to be pretty keen on facts, you've declared you're posting them numerous times in this thread. If you need some pointers on facts and how to use them then feel free to ask.

Do you ever read back and think, why am I so pompous ?. Honest question.
Ps. Im well aware that a duo is two, hence I didn't add him. But thanks for clarification treacle.

Oh, I'm sorry for growing up then. I'll have a look on Ebay to see if I can find an old box set of Byker Grove.
"A+++++", "Great Comms, would recommend", "Thank you, the 12 inch black mamba is just perfect" - Ebay.
I started watching it with my daughters when they were younger and have continued to do so out of habit. This series has been the poorest in a while as the stories have become secondary to the message. A message I tend to agree with but ultimately for the message to work the stories need to be strong and in general they haven't been.
The best episode of this series was the one in the cinema where the big animated thing went rogue.

I guess that'll be me then.
I used to watch it avidly as a kid. Tom Baker was the first Dr I really remember, followed by Peter Davidson. I stopped watching towards the end of the Colin Baker era and didn't bother with the Eccleston reboot, but into it again with David Tennant. Haven't missed an episode since. My kids have grown up with it too. For balance we've thoroughly enjoyed the latest incarnation. The constant throwbacks are well worked in to the stories. Granted it's all a little far fetched and sometimes muddled, but it's simple escapism and there doesn't seem much wrong with that. Not so much aimed at this post nor you Blueas, but some of contributions to this thread have been quite unpleasant. Unecessarily so.
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Im only replying to the rest of you....
Well, about 3 of you... im not upgrading you to hinge and bracket.. just yet
Strut?
If Hinge and Bracket had been a trio, I reckon they would have gone for "Hinge, Bracket and Strut". Although "Hinge, Bracket and Support" would be quite a good musicians gag.

OP: TV show I've never watched is rubbish, and I don't understand how it's still on the telly because I've never met any of the 3m people who watch it.
First reply: Used to be good back in the day, but not a fan now because the show has started including characters that reflect our diverse society.
FWIW...
Adding to the OP discussion, I used to watch the odd show in the Tom Baker era, but was too young at the time to remember any of it now and never appealed to me since; but I have family members who are big fans and eagerly await all the new series / episodes.
For the subsequent discussion about the first reply which seems to have taken over half the thread, poster hasn't said anything xenophobic. They have decided to wear their own xenophobia like a badge of honour though (which according to some later replies was common knowledge anyway), so probably deserves pity in the replies rather than anger.
