Why would it? He's just lost 9 games in a row and is back at the second level. Brentford are very established and a big part of that success is this kind of player trading and reinvestment. You might not want him to leave but there is no evidence it would kill his career, they are clearly doing something right over there.

Think they meant Spurs.

It's rumoured to be about £6m after negotiations last summer. That's quite high for a manager - clubs have to think twice about paying that as unlike spending on players there is no recouping that fee from a sale

£6m is loose change from down the sofa for a established PL club. Not a factor.

As far as I’m concerned, he commits or leaves. He explored his ‘options’ last year and I don’t think it entirely helped our preparations. It’s exactly the same for players. Stay or go. Just decide now out of respect for your current employers.

If KM decides to move on, he goes with my thanks for two and a half brilliant seasons - and best wishes for the future. But I suspect it’s all nonsense speculation by bored journos. It’s how it is these days.

Let’s sack the manager who won us a trophy.

I know, let’s get the bloke who got relegated with one home win all season.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

I'd be amazed if he ended up at Spurs, but the domino effect it will likely cause could see him go to Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham etc.

I have always been worried about Spurs.

He's known there remember and thought of highly. The away win there won't have gone unnoticed. KM's words after that game were quite emotional, talking about coming over as a teenager. Slightly unlike him.

I think if you're in the football industry his stock is far higher than some of our support think after this 'disappointing' season. I put that in inverted commas because I think many performances were impressive for a side that had been in League one two years ago. A 'par' finish for us was probably to come bottom with Saints total or less in reality as much as we and I convinced ourselves otherwise.

Chelsea, United, Spurs, Everton etc

Traditionally big clubs irrespective of current performance.

Not much upside joining a Brentford / Bournemouth from where they are, I don't think he will... but it is a possibility I guess.

For me, those teams are 5/6 years ahead of us. He could jump that level IMO

Spurs won’t be looking at KM. Based on what exactly?! If they did, then Levy is dafter than I thought.

To be fair Bournemouth have just had their most successful season ever. They’re a club on the up with new training facilities and stadium improvements under way.
Not too dissimilar to ourselves but perhaps 2-3 seasons ahead. Could that be a consideration for Kmc, I’m not sure but it’s a possibility I guess.

That’s a huge gamble for a club like Spurs to appoint KM. Levy can’t afford to take the risk and get it wrong, especially with all the Champions League money they will receive.

Even if we hate it, every established PL club is a big opening for a multitude of reasons.

The idea that Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton aren't appealing because they're small clubs that have gone as far as they can is wrong. Look at the ever increasing gap and finances involved.

Have you not learned anything from this season?

All 17 established Premier League clubs are miles ahead of us. Massive upside to joining them - particularly the likes of Bournemouth/Brentford - he'd jump at the chance, and rightly so.

100%

Some fans were saying the same about Brighton for last season. Even if Brentford lose their best players, they have one of the best scouting networks in football.

Would be perfectly logical for him to go to Brentford if they offered him that job.

I beg to differ a bit with respect to this subject. Managers. Brentford and Bournemouth are really at their peak after a season or 2 without relegation worries and building a squad of good players.

BUT what can happen now is this high performance by, lets put this nicely, historically clubs from outside the top league, can have bigger clubs, including from around Europe, come in for their managers and players. Its not happened yet too much, but take Frank and Buemo from Brentford, and strip away Iraola and 3 of the Bournemouth squad, and you'd think they'd be very lucky to keep staying at that high level.

But Brighton, they have it down proper and are a more established side, as are Palace. They just seem to sell players, change managers, they keep their level.

I think it is less about gambling on Kieran and more about the optics around his appointment, unfortunately for him. Had we survived, I would have had him down as the favourite to get the role...he is very, very well respected at Spurs, Kieran's agent Frank Trimboli is a personal friend of Levy's, and I'm sure we'd all back him to do the role successfully. But, Levy needs to make a safer decision, they've just had a terrible league season, with an insane number of home losses and the fans are crying out for Levy to go...appointing a relegated coach, with no high profile (like Kompany) or prem track record isn't going to cut it on this occasion. Hence why it'll be Frank or someone with more top-flight / Prem credits in the bank.

I also veg to differ- if a manager is at their peak after 2 good seasons at said clubs then get offered a role a a spurs or another top club (like what is potentially going to happen with new spurs boss) then it is a step in the right direction for any manager. Ipswich to any established premier league team is a step up whether we like it or not

While McKenna achieved 2 successive promotions, we spend more money than the other 2 promoted clubs & did little better last season. I'm not sure most PL club fans, especially the likes of Spurs, will be clamouring to appoint him.

We spent more money because we had a largely league one squad vs Leicester and Southampton who had just come down from the Prem. Context? The phrase "while McKenna achieved 2 successive promotions" followed by criticism of him, is astonishing. Name me another ITFC Manager who has achieved two successive promotions. Or any manager for that matter, there aren't many of them, for good reason. Ungrateful and unappreciative would be words that spring to mind.
