I thought, sincerely, that at the time of my first post, the scale of the replies attacking the op were way out of proportion in that the attacks were mainly focused on information provided by the Mirror. (Perhaps there is further debate where the op has developed the argument that came after my reply, I haven't checked the whole thread)
There is always a bias of fans protective of their clubs, whereby articles "underrating" our players produce a vitriolic response and I thought it was being directed at the op rather than The Mirror which supplied all the details.
