People see what they want to see. A valuable contributor to some poster might well be just a wind-up merchant to others. Same with a supposed gang who attack - they might well simply share a sane viewpoint and be horrified at the suggestion that they attack.
Phil is a very patient administrator who doesn’t ban people just for the hell of it. If someone gets banned then there’s a very good reason for it.
Unless what was said was particularly vile (no idea what was said) then previously banned posters have been allowed back. |
Having the same viewpoint is fine, joining up as a group and antagonising is not and has happened several times in the last few days. There are several people who have formerly been good posters disappearing. I think it’s because there’s no football to talk about so people move over to the general tab - unfortunately with politics people seem to believe there is a right and wrong and can’t see any other viewpoints, culminating in the hostility we’ve seen lately |  | | |

Posters who get disappeared tend not to be blameless. I can think of a few who have been banned who were probably given multiple warnings but didn’t heed them. And for clarity, those posters come from both left and right of the political spectrum.
The arguments might well put people off from joining in but that’s down to them.
TWTD is a great community and in communities you sometimes get bickering. Just don’t take this place too seriously and everything will be fine. | | | |
