The first album you bought. on 10:31 - Jul 6 by Cheltenham_Blue
First Single:
I hadn’t appreciated that INXS started so early. I wasn’t aware of them until ‘Kick’ went large in the later 80s, but they’d already been going a decade by then.
I didn't always have obscure music tastes. This isn't an album that dates well, though I'm not sure many thought it was especially good at the time tbh.
Second album bought was Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi, which still sounds great, albeit of it's time.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

I bought the sheet music to that (when that was a thing). No idea why as I was terrible on the guitar and piano but it was fun trying.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I had a few bought for me for Christmas etc. These would have included The Muppet Show LP and the original Star Wars soundtrack, but I think the first LP I actually bought was a complilation called Video Stars (on K Tel of course!).
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
Simple Minds - Street fighting Years from Andy’s in Lowestoft on good old cassette.
Technically my second, my first real album was vinyl to Father Abraham in Smurfland, but I don’t think I should be counting that
Coincidently, my first single was a school rendition of “he’s only a poor little sparrow” - a song I sing often now, with a different bird in the title.

Tears for fears. The hurting.
Still dust it down and give it a spin on spotify every now and again.
That was the 3rd album I bought. On cassette. I recently bought a deluxe edition of it and played it for the first time probably since about 1985. It's still brilliant.

Wings - Band on the Run was my first LP as a schoolkid. My tastes have twisted and turned in the subsequent years but I remain a music obsessive with an embarrassingly large collection of vinyl. Mr McCartney's outfit is however lno longer represented, probably traded in to buy something wilder in the late 70s.
