So Babylon tasered the guy and then kicked him IN THE HEAD while he was helpless on the floor?
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Indeed. I worry at this creep towards the view that the police should shoot first and ask questions later. The alleged attackers in this case had no way of knowing the cop had a gun, let alone had any intention to take it, so I really don't think they were lucky the police didn't use lethal force. If we start justifying lethal force as a proportionate response to any perceived threat then we may as well give up and move to the US.
To be fair, they tried asking questions, and got a kicking prior to getting the answers. The pc went to far in the heat of the moment, no question!! . But what occurred prior to that was just unreal, and I hope they get made an example of, that’s not the behaviour of rational people.

He did, but I think nobody on here can appreciate taking an absolute battering off two scumbags who have already committed a violent crime and watching one of them absolute batter a female colleague and friend. Add into the mix the fact their are guns involved and if they lose the gun they potentially end up dead. That's the context and it was a brutal attack on them first. With that and the adrenaline I'm not over judging the police officer stepping over the rules slightly here.
Obviously ideally he doesn't do it. But I have zero sympathy for the two offenders here and the officers priority has to be theirs and the publics safety.

Pair of thugs. Will be an absolute disgrace if they don’t get a lengthy custodial sentence .
I remember when this happened last year and the first few days my wife’s social media was full of police brutality….racism etc etc. I remember it didn’t sit right back then and the more I’m seeing granted from outside the country it seems technology (cameras and social interweb) can be a gift as well as a real disease. I’m not even sure what I’m even trying to say here but I guess generalisation and black and white views are ridiculous.
It is possible for two things to be true. First, the defendants behaved deplorably and second, the police involved over-stepped the mark.
The defendants are now facing trial and it may be that the police involved will suffer some sort of sanction.

Retraining at best. After what they had to endure it’s no wonder he lost his mind. We are seriously starting to turn in to a country of sympathisers, trying to find the worst in the people that are trying to do their best to protect people in some very scary times. And defend the indefensible.

Of course it is understandable, but to be honest I see very little sympathy for the defendants in the media coverage of this event.
Having said that, with policing by consent the philosophy in this country (in contrast to countries like France where the police are let loose), I think it is important to try to maintain standards of behaviour in the police which fit with that philosophy, and to hold police officers to account where appropriate.
By way of background, this is one element of Peel's principle of policing by consent issued to all new police officers since 1829.
"To use physical force only when the exercise of persuasion, advice and warning is found to be insufficient to obtain public co-operation to an extent necessary to secure observance of law or to restore order, and to use only the minimum degree of physical force which is necessary on any particular occasion for achieving a police objective."

Can I ask why you think these are "very scary times" for people living in the UK?

Two Tier will be worried about riots if they get time.
People from minority ethnic backgrounds generally get harsher sentences than white folks. Maybe try educating yourself?
"Although there are variations across age groups and offence types, government statistics suggest that ethnic minority defendants are more likely than white defendants to receive an immediate custodial sentence, rather than a community sentence, for the same seriousness of offence. The statistics also suggest that ethnic minorities have a consistently higher average custodial sentence length for equivalent offences."

Braveheart is a rubbish film - nothing to do with the historical inadequacies. It’s just a rubbish film.
How you can say that about a wee Australian fighting the English in a broken accent is beyond me.
The joke about the sequel focuses more on his execution at the end of the original film making a sequel an impossibility. It was an attempt at sattire.
