On this thread, the OP posted that it may not be true, but that poster has then posted it on another thread as fact. But nobody triggered the agreed release terms and that clause is expired anyway so we are entitled to negotiate how we wish.
£35m up front is worth a lot more than £35m over X years it’s not like the structure of payments isn’t important. |
So basically there are no offers on the player and he as we are told does not want to train with his team mates, for KM who put every faith in him and overall not fight the ITFC fight.

Seems unlikely he would refuse to train, especially given the relationship with KMc and the development he has made at the club.
However, if he has openly and honestly asked for permission to talk to PL clubs, I have absolutely no problem with that at all.

In fact, it's possible he isn't training with the group at the moment, if a deal is being hammered out, but that it's been agreed with the club that he doesn't train with them, rather than that he's refused.

I don't think anyone is denying he will likely go to Brentford (or possibly abroad), I think what people are questioning is the intent.
Its been framed as though, he has thrown his toys out of the pram and is disrespecting the club/KM/MA, but if negotiations are still taking place, (entirely likely and no rush to meet a deadline until September now), then it make no sense what-so-ever for us to let him get injured either.

Same person that told me about Morsy leaving weeks ago had said Omari had requested to leave, so wouldn’t surprise me.
I really don’t like when players go down that road but it seems to be a common tactic these days. Did I see Szmodics mention he did similar when trying to get his move from Blackburn to us? Refused to play in their pre season games.
Edit: I should add it doesn’t mean he is refusing to train, just that he’d made his mind up a few weeks ago he wanted to move back to the Prem. [Post edited 24 Jul 10:04]

Would be a shame and disappointing *if* true. Of course it's more likely that whatever is happening he's discussed and agreed with the club rather than just refused to appear. I'd actually hope ITFC would take a firm disciplinary stance on that.

It wouldn't be in his interest not to train. I would not be surprised at all if he doesn't play games. That's more common. Why wouldn't he train? He would need to be fit for any new club.

Omari will be leaving. I think the club won't stand in his way and the fee will just need to be negotiated.
The boy I don't agree with is posting something without knowing it's true. Club and he may mutually agree he doesn't play the matches as well. Unless it's fact an McKenna confirms it then not right to post it. That's just my opinion. |

I’ve no doubt at all he wants out. He’s one of a few Championship players that has spent the summer with Prem players and he will not want to be taking a wage drop to play in the Championship. Yep, I was about to say the same re. Gnonto, you beat me to it.
I do think we hold all the aces here. McKenna is hugely respected. If Omari acts like that to him, he could lose some serious credit in the industry. Omari's family have always said that McKenna was the best person to guide Omari's career, I don't feel Keith Andrews is better-suited in that regard.

I can understand him feeling rueful or aggrieved, if he's arrived at the mindset that his transfer was blocked on a technicality, that he fulfilled his end of the bargain by performing to a standard by which his valuation was met, that Ipswich have received a good deal from his services.
