I did wonder whether we would be throwing in a player to sweeten the deal. Sticking in Broadhead at a £5m valuation + £20m might not be the worst move to get one of our less-fancied 10s off the books and aid us in getting Hackney. |
Off the books? Making it sound like a contract dump when he could command a GBP7-8M fee on his own to an ambitious club at this level. We should only do that if we are happy to go to 25M+ for Hackney, which I doubt we would be.

Err, have you seen some of the Championship fees being banded around these days even by non parachute clubs?
I think Wrexham could be in that range for Broadhead, he's not exactly ancient at 27 is he? Rather in his prime really. He has a proven record in the champ, what was it 14 goals or something? We're definitely moving for other midfielders irrespective of this deal, probably a high end Prem loan in the style of Omari in terms of seasons development. So won't be entirely under the cosh hopefully . [Post edited 28 Jul 19:44]
