Burnley will probably take him.

Nor for me I’m afraid… doesn’t seem to fully tick either the “industrious” or “flair” box, so gets caught between the two, which makes his place in the squad a bit weird. I think that’s proven by only starting 11 games last season.

Not for me. Not what we need.

would be a decent squad addition if Broadhead were to leave

I still rate Broadhead, it would be disappointing to see him go

If Hutch or Broady go, then he wouldn't be a bad option.

He stalled a little bit last year but there is a player in there (and then some).

'Sarmientooooo' I'd take him back, good squad player.

I like him. Bit of a peripheral player, but he’s got something about him so I’d have him in the squad if there was room.

Seen a few say they would sign him if we sold Broadhead. Personally I think that would be a huge downgrade. Broadhead is criminally underrated.

I'm a huge Broadhead fan but feels like his time here is done to me. A year left with no new deal imminent and he's an asset worth £5m? We aren't going to want to let him walk for nothing next summer. So I can see a world where he goes and we re-invest a chunk of the proceeds on Sarmiento.

wasn't he our top scorer in the Championship last time around?

12 months ago we was prepared to leave him out of our 25 man squad had our deal for Reiss Nelson went through on deadline day.

If you could sell Broadhead and buy Sarmiento at the same price it would be a good deal for us.

Broadhead 27, in final year of contract and probably isn't going to sign a new one for various reasons [what we'd want to offer and what he'd want to accept aren't going to be aligned]

No thanks. The only reason to sign him would be sentiment in my opinion - and there's no room for that when you're chasing promotion.

I do like Sarmiento as a bit of a wildcard. He'll miskick a shot, bounce off the floor and then toe poke a shot into the bottom corner.

He needs refined though.

I'm not sure what Sarmiento's ceiling is.

He was decent enough off the ball, but so ineffective on it. Failed to nail down a place for us or Burnley.

I love the bloke, but I'm not sure what he is good at.

I thought at the back end of the 23/24 season, he was the ultimate super sub - really effective and was changing games. Always thought it was a shame he didn't join at the start of the season like Omari and have a full season working with McKenna.

Against the consenus but yes please.

Got better as the season went on and if we'd had him the whole season under McKenna like Hutch then he may have improved further.

The 35 mins away at Coventry was one of my favourite sub appearances - he was everywhere and defensively superb for such a tricksy player.

He certainly had a knack for scoring important goals, that is undeniable. He also runs hard and presses well.

But aside from that I just don't see it. My mate who is a Burnley fan was not keen either. Just said he was really ineffective whenever he started games which seemed to be the case when he was here as well. I think we can get better.

No one will forget his goal against Southampton and perhaps if he’d had a good season last year at Burnley but can’t see him being a starter for us and think that’s what he needs now.

Rather we spend the money on a new contract for Broady. But that doesn’t look likely for some reason.
