Not really, no. He wants Premiership football.

Worth a few more days to see what develops

He wants a prem move. Can't blame him. Most would.

If that's not an option then he'll choose possibly the best option he'll get or stay at boro.

Can't really begrudge him of anything.

Just hope what ever happens. It's resolved before the weekend so we can move on if needed.

Calm down dear. It’s a done deal.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Here we go! I did wonder who was going to be the first to start moaning that he's taking his time to access his options!

How long before certain posters throw him on the scrap heap before even kicking a ball for being disinterested?

How dare any player think twice before signing for the mighty town. We don't want thoughtful, considered people at our club! Boo!

Thanks, but I'm not the one moaning that a highly rated England U21 international player is wanting to see if there is any Premier League teams interested in him, before committing to another Championship team!

People need to realise footballers like Hackney don’t grow up dreaming of playing for Ipswich. That’s not to say he wouldn’t be entirely committed and get on board if / when he did join, it’s just the reality. IF a premier league club wanted him you couldn’t blame him for going there and pursuing that. He’s assessing his options though like anyone would if they’re changing employer.

I hope this gets done quickly though.

Well he needs to make his mind up fast otherwise he’ll be getting the Philogene treatment. Not sure he will make the mocked and loathed Muric level, but he can give it a go!

I’d give him until 9.30 to put his x on the contract, kiss the badge, wave the scarf about and mumble ITFC is the only club for him or move on. Finger out, Ashton! Sorted.

Back in the real world, you are of course right.

Reading between the lines, it looks like we want a conclusion to this before the season starts. Clearly a deal we’ve been working on for some time.

I think from his perspective, it’s a multitude of things;
1 - PL interest not quite materialising in to offers.
2 - good offer on the table from us, playing under the best manager outside of the PL.
3 - does he wait to see if PL offer arrives? And in that time, Town move on to other targets.
4 - no PL offer arrives, Town move on and he stays at Boro where his stock falls given he’s got to play kick and rush football under Edwards for at least 6 months?

My guess is that Town are pretty confident he’s willing to join, but they want an answer before the weekend to give him a few days training before Brum away.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Would’ve thought both us and Boro will want a conclusion pretty fast.

I’d imagine he & his agent have at least heard whispers of other interest, but that crystalising into an offer is a different question. He’s perhaps on their B list and they’re waiting to see what happens elsewhere. Best thing he can do is get himself to town innit.

And as Town fans the best we can do is offer him our full support and undieing love just in case he takes a peep at this forum .

Innit. The last apparently initially unsure CM to sign from Boro wasn’t half bad.

Wally was always going to be bear the top of the list of who might do it, just as long as he doesn’t elevate HH to Kayden Jackson levels of loathing.

His agent will be making sure there are no better options for him which, to be fair, would be what I would be wanting my agent to do if I were a professional footballer!

I think a lot of what is being reported is several days behind. Remember he had that "injury" Saturday and was left out of their team that day. He would have done his research, talked to valuable friends possibly even his ex boss. His decision is probably made now. I would imagine it is now all about keeping Boro fans happy and just completing the transfer.

Brilliant. Let me know if we are all going to get on his back like we have with Philogene just because they haven't treated us like we are a dream move to Real Madrid. I wouldn't want to miss out on the chance to judge a player before or even kicks a ball for us or a handy scape goat later in the season.

To be fair I’d hope we have learnt from the Philogene saga last summer and given Hackney a clear deadline when will move on by.

I imagine the Broadhead sale helps us to fund the large upfront payment for Hackney.

Let's hope KMac works his magic, although everything I've heard suggests our 'officials' have already agreed terms on a contract etc. The Boro journo is saying negotiations are only now beginning.
