Centre midfielders 13:32 - Jul 30 with 3228 viewssaffers12

If HH signs then we he compliments Azor really well.

However, we must be in for a least 1 more CM as nether CH or JT are replacements for either starting 2

Thought?

Taylor may be able to do a fair job but we will definitely need one more very good, preferably experienced player in there – big priority because injuries can and will happen, we will look thin even if we pull off the excellent signing of Hackney.

Definitely need another.

I continue to believe many many people grossly underestimate the size of the rebuild this squad is undergoing.

I agree with you, JT and CH are a big drop of in levels but also style compared to AM and HH,

Would love to see Tanaka to support the AM role

There is big change happening, and key players have left, not just fringe players.

However, with the investment in new players, coupled with the existing talent, any half decent manager should be able to mount a promotion push.

Yeah 1 more for sure, making a 4 with Taylor.

I can see Humprhreys sticking around as a handy squad member, can play left back and has played further forward in more of a #10 role for Wycombe last season as well, so I think he'll be a valuable and versatile use of 1 of the 25 squad places.

In terms of you think there will be more big numbers coming in?

No chance. We are nearly there now. HH + 2 more (3 more max) I think. There will be a few to move out if course:

Broadhead looks very close
Harry Clarke I think would have gone out on loan but just won't take a squad place now it seems.
Al Hamadi 50/50. Could see him staying now.
Omari 50/50
Slicker
Muric
Baggott most likely.

Not all will go, but could see at least 4-5 of them go still, which will need replacing.

It's not that big, our starting XI against Brum will contain 8 players who were here last season I imagine, possibly 9.

You'd imagine we'd get in a prem youngster on loan. Maybe one senior midfielder in the Travis ilk maybe instead

Striker. This is key. Needs to compliment the squad

Needs to score some goals rather than say nice things about them.

I said over a month ago massive rebuild coming this summer biggest since cook's mad summer I had no knowledge but I imagine McKenna saw a side that had gone as far as it could momentum all used up.
And if we go up to be semi ready for the Premiership transfer window.

I'm just not sure keeping Humphreys around as a 5th CM who takes up a squad slot is worth it. We would be better off keeping Finn Barbrook around as at least he does not count.

Equally, off the back of last nights game I wasn't totally convinced Humphreys is really ready to play 6 at the level that others have done over the past 3 years.

We don't need versatility IMO, we need 2 brilliant players for each position.

I make us at 28 players now, then there’s Hackney and it’s pretty much universally agreed we’ll need another midfielder and striker so that takes us to 31 so we’ll have to shift 6 to get to 25 even before any more signings.

*can imagine a bit of cheat where we keep a place open but don’t register Clarke and Burns I guess.

Where is this massive rebuild then ? We have signed 3 outfield players and one of them is 40 years old and a 5 th goal keeper. I don’t see much of a rebuild. I do see a few players leaving though. If it’s such a massive rebuild, we kick off in two weeks, we better get our bloody skates on. Or are we going to be hearing the same old thing, they came in late and it will take time to gel……..whilst the leading teams are 12 points ahead of us !

I don’t know why you think we need a massive rebuild. We need about 2-3 more players on top of what we already have sorted. We’ve got the GK and defence sorted, flanks sorted, need to strengthen depth in CM and more cover up front.

Why do we need HH to tell Azor that the latter is a good footballer?

Probably another loan for Humph with a smart senior backup in the Luongo mould perhaps or a young PL hotshot?
