Brum will be strong this season I’m sure.

Have a really strong squad, will be full of that momentum we benefitted from previously - will be a tough night.

The Championship will be strong, no one will run away with it.

Not looking forward to it really.

The worst possible game we could’ve got.

Brum on a high after last season and us on a ‘low’.

Is going to be a very tough start for us both

So if we lose to Brum on Friday are the melts here going to have an even busier meltdown?

Come on, day one and still a month of the transfer window open. You'd think it will be a ding dong of a game, but will probably end up 0-0.;

Let's see where we are end of October.

There’s going to be world record dummy spitting if we lose to Birmingham.

They have a winning season momentum behind them which is crucial and so powerful. I just hope Towns experiences last season don’t spill over into this season. Weve had a very good pre season, so hopefully this will spill over into the the first month of the season for us to build up momentum. But it’s a helluva tough first month and we still haven’t completed our squad yet.

It's going to be close, 4-1 win for Town. I was going with 6-1, but decided I would be sensible and instead predicting a 4-1 Town win.

They haven’t scored a goal in preseason and general consensus from a mate who’s a Tricky Tree says it’s a little alarming. Should be a good test to open the season for us.

I think we'll win 0-2.
We still have an incredibly strong side, even without Hutchinson & Philogene, if it comes to that. Our keeper is solid, our defence is quality at this level (Young or Greaves can cover LB if Davis doesn't make it), we have Matusiwa & possibly Cajuste in midfield, and then Clarke, Chaplin & Szmodics behind Hirst.
They all know how to play the system & will be a cpuple of levels above what Birmingham have been used to. Plus, they still have a significant amount of 'gelling' to go through with their new players; we'll only really have Matusiwa as a new guy, and he's been there weeks already.

This opening game v Brum makes me think it could be a bit like our opening game last season against Liverpool except this time we play the role of Liverpool and Brum are us from last year. Brum will go at us, hopefully we weather it, wait for them to get knackered and rob them in the last 20 minutes.

Prem sides will be a bit behind Championship sides on fitness at the moment

It's going to be an interesting one, it's an intimidating ground and we have a fairly poor record there, it's never an easy place to go

Looking forward to Friday.
Live, I did not see them win a single match last year.
I changed my shirt, socks and anything else that might have been unlucky. But it made no difference.
We still have some excellent players and a great manager. Let's get at 'em !

100% this.

At this stage, I truly don't believe we could've been given a worse start.

Brum didnt lose at home last season, momentum is with them, they are a very decent team and their fans are pretty rabid.

But im reading that its a must win, a six pointer and all this sh1te on match one of a 46 game season.

I could list the names on here who will explode and don't even get me started on facebook/X, makes this place seem positively sane.

I see August being bumpy... but I still have faith we will do very well this season.

I watched Luton last Friday, they huffed and puffed against a dogged Wimbledon defence. But ultimately an own goal gave them the 3 points late on.

And now they’ll feel that in part they’ve put the hoodoo of last season’s debacle a little bit behind them.

If the TWTD forum is a bell weather for the mood around the club, then some negativity and doubts abound - a poor Prem season finish and a squad that hasn’t strengthened as much as we’d hoped. Hence a win on Friday would just be absolutely massive.

For me, this is already a good team, with a great manager. The away fans need to fire up at St Andrews, and we’ll have every chance of victory. And we lose then we just move on to Saints at home.

In McKenna we trust.

It's also important to remember that it was a pre season game, this isn't a league match where the intensity is 100%. Supporters get sucked in thinking friendly games have a bearing on the league, they don't. However, I do agree that Friday's game against Birmingham will be an acid test for our boys.
