I have full faith in KM & MA to execute the plan but it does worry me that both recent striker targets are last minute hijacks.
We must be someway down our list of targets to be reacting in the way we have or we didn't know they were available until they had interest which is a poor reflection on our scouting network.

Must admit that was my first reaction too! Looks a bit scattergun now unless he was on our list all along but only now got an indication he was available and willing to join? Unlikely, not impossible.
Some people have been relentlessly negative on here over the last few days, which is tiresome, especially as we've had an excellent pre season.
However, I do think the transfer window probably hasn't gone how we or the club envisioned so far. Including losing more players from last year's squad than we/they would have liked. | | | |

I appreciate there are benefits to it but there are obvious concerns. We are now competing with at least two other clubs, it's 4 days before our first game etc etc
Both are clearly really really good players but in Akpom's case, putting in a bid on the day he's having a medical at another club does not suggest great process on the face of it.
There may well be more to it, I don't know but I can't recall us hijacking deals in this way since MA/ KM joined us. | | | |

Truth is that we have no idea who is on our list - so it may be scattergun or it may not. Personally i very much doubt it is scattergun - we are just too professionally run for that to be the case. IMO! |  |

You say losing more players, but, excepting those on the released list, we have still only lost the expected Delap and two who were already not signing new contracts (Burgess and Tuanzebe). | |

They were technically released but it was clear we made what we thought were good offers to Burgess and Axel to stay. And based on what KM said at end of season re Morsy and Morsy's own subsequent comments - it was also apparent (I thought) that he wasn't really expected to leave this summer either.
Add that to MA's EADT interview a month or so ago, where he emphasised the importance of keeping the squad together and retention, I would say, on the face of it, probably more have left than they ideally wanted.

Think you’re being quite disingenuous to everyone by using both Gassan and Ahadme in that context.
Both players were bought in to develop in the championship for a couple or so seasons. Promotion and high expectations of automatic promotion simply meant that Gassan couldn’t keep up with such development. Ahadme could still have a part to play this season. |  | | |
