Someone of that ilk, fast, direct and going to cause problems. Would probably also give us a chance to go after a bit of a project CF like Salech or Ivanovich.

Would think we would want to sign players who can make step up to premier league Doak would be awesome but can see a PL club wanting him

Doak would be an excellent addition, and has been in KmK’s sights for a while, but too many PL clubs showing an interest for us to come into play.
Who we got lined up if broady and omari go? on 20:33 - Aug 6 with 2261 views | _clive_baker_ | Sell them both. Milk it for every penny of course, but frankly I’ve always been of the view that no player is bigger than the club, if they want out then so be it. If we can get something close to £50m for the pair of them then take it. Cash in the bank won’t win us football matches, but I’d rather see us reward loyalty and the likes of Chappers and view it as an opportunity for Clarke / Philogene / Szmodics to kick on after stop-start 1st seasons. Obviously will need to reinvest in reinforcements, but if McKenna can get a tune out of Harness & Jackson at this level he sure as hell can out of this crop. McKenna’s comments about loyalty working both ways are pretty telling. It’s the way of the world, I get it, player power etc, but you’re either on the bus or you’re not.
Who we got lined up if broady and omari go? on 20:37 - Aug 6 with 2184 views | tetchris | What we have seen over the past couple of seasons is that young players at PL clubs who aren’t probably going to be a regular starter in the first X1 at the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool etc are getting more and more expensive. You are looking at paying over £20 million for a young player who has probably made one or two appearances in the cup competitions or maybe a rare appearance on the bench or coming on in a PL game which is probably already won! Delap and Hutchinson are prime examples, very little if none first team appearances at PL level and all of a sudden they are worth £15-20 million and the selling club wants a % sell on clause. You get more value buying from abroad but the risk is probably greater as the player and his family has to settle in the UK. Rumours are Nottm Forest were quoted 28 million euros to sign Doak.

Wouldn’t have thought so. We’ve got Chappers and Szmodics. If we get Akpom he can also cover there. But what do I know!?

Disagree. If/when Hutchinson goes, our options on the right are Ogbene (returning from a serious injury) and Burns (returning who knows when). Johnson or Young at a push. We'll need better. At 10 we've already got Szmodics and Chaplin to fight it out, plus potentially Akpom as well.

Appreciate the challenge with injuries returning on the right wing, but we will be overstocked if they get back to fitness and form. Feels like we need a RW and a 10. I’ve seen Fellows, Rak-Saki, Doak all mentioned but they feel like right wingers instead of people who can also play as a 10.Fellows can play off the left also tbf to him. I’m not sure on Szomdics in the 10 role from the bits I’ve seen so far Chappers, is chappers but feels like an area where we could improve on what we have and Sam can cover the left side.

If we replaced Omari with Ray Sakyi I would cry. Backed him to have a big season with the blades last year and he was so underwhelming. Can't see him ever being a premier league calibre footballer. Doak on the other hand....

Our right side has ogbene and burns both injury risks so we need better attack and creativity there

I think it would be crazy to spend £25m on a player at this level but getting £50m for Broadhead and Hutchinson makes that semi-possible.

Liverpool might be open to a loan given how they have seen other young talent develop here. Like you say, we have to ask the question.

€28m = £24.5m. Maybe we should tell Forest to Buy Doak and then they can have Omari for £10m + Doak. Everyone is a winner. But seriously, you can see how this merry go round works, I just hope we have a top level replacement lined up and ready to go ahead of the Omari sale (which is now more inevitable than ever). Would bite Liverpool's hand off at the chance to loan Doak with the option (not obligation) to buy for £30m upon promotion. His potential is next level. Trying to work out who has the higher ceiling between him and Hutch. [Post edited 6 Aug 22:41]

They’ve already indicated that they intend to sell this Window. They rejected £15/16M last window (although I don’t think pushing higher than that would be an issue for us), BUT West Ham, Wolves, Palace, Forest, Everton, Bournemouth, Brentford and PSV have all been reported as making overtures. Palace did have a bid turned down in January. With so much higher tier interest, I just don’t see us being at the races.
