When will people understand we are aiming higher now? He barely played last time we had him.

Honestly we should get him in.

We've got the two midfielders to progress as prem players should we get there. Let's get a nice solid pro in who knows the league. Is good enough for what we need too.

As good as he was for cover 2 seasons ago, if we needed him now I would say things haven't gone to plan at all with recruitment.

A no from me decent player but we must aim higher.

I honestly wouldn't mind him. He's definitely an upgrade on Taylor in that role. Depends if he would be happy to come and be 3rd/4th choice though. I can't imagine he would

I'm happy with aiming higher. Let's just hope we hit what we're aiming at. Otherwise we'll look pretty stupid.

We've already missed out to Derby on one player (Agyemang), seemingly.

If we end up with lewis Travis as our man in midfield I would go as far as saying our recruitment has been a travisty...

Don't mind a senior head in, but the signing of Ashley young should teach us all about the calibre we're aiming at, as a fan base we need to step away from past success in players (yes im looking at the calls we had for kieffer Moore and sarmiento to return) and look at scouting what progresses the club

But signed Akpom. I can't imagine we were looking at getting both in

Would definitely take him as fourth choice CM if Taylor and Humphreys move on (permanent or loans) but we need another top CM for this division to battle for a starting place.

Truly impaired.

I’d be looking at Alex Matos or Nathaniel Chalobah.

Would probably edge for N.Chalobah currently.

No point letting Mass go if this is the talent we are looking for as a first reserve. Fans have completely forgotten we are a parachute club, I swear.

This

I can not believe some see a deal for Travis being acceptable for a club in the position we’re in.

You know we are actually looking to try to get back in the Prem this season…

The Nathaniel Chalobah who is always injured at Sheffield Wednesday? He's likely to be out for 1-2 months having lasted 20 minutes on Sunday. Scored, yes, but then did his hamstring.

People on here have a weird obsession with bringing former players back.

It is odd, isn't it? We can't seem to go much more than a day or two without someone suggesting a previous player, and quite often players that didn't make the position their own when they were here last time.

What Travis would bring is the seasoned Championship experience and leadership in the middle of the park that we lost when Morsy went. We need that imo. Azor looks like he could take some time to get used to this league and as nice a player he and Cajuste are, they aren’t leaders in there either. I understand the reservations over Travis though. I’ve no idea what very good, proven leaders and warriors are out there who are available.

Little bit patronising.

People DO understand, but would rather see some depth through the door than nothing. He’d definitely be an upgrade on Taylor, who’s had plenty of opportunities to prove himself now.

Aiming higher is great but as Hackney showed, it’s not without risk - you depend weeks putting a deal together only to be rejected. Matusuwa will take time to get up to speed, Cajuste won’t play every game - we desperately need reinforcements in midfield. We got bullied and dominated by a team who were two leagues apart last season.

Matusiwa Is first choice in that role. We need back up should he get injured or suspended. Travis firs that role of squad player. I’m not sure we can aim much higher for somebody who wouldn’t be a first pick.

The man who has completed a full 90 mins since July 2023? Partly through injury, and partly through not being able to get in the very poor Sheffiled Wednesday team?

Amazing.

We need to be aiming higher. He wasn't a good enough ball player in the limited minutes he got last time he was here and we've moved on massively since then. Definitely not one I'd be in for.

He’s a quality player at Champ level and knows the league. We didn’t see anything like the best of him last time around but that was more circumstantial and due to the form of those ahead of him and the form of the side as a whole really, meaning his opportunities were limited. I had quite a long chat with LT & KM at an event last summer and McKenna said he’s 1 player who was a bit unlucky, reckons he’s quality, but the general consensus from both was it was now about planning for the PL. Phillips proved to be that addition but fair to say that didn’t work out.

He’s clearly not a player we see as PL potential otherwise we would’ve tried to get him last summer. I think we’ll add another in midfield but it’ll be a bigger ticket and someone we see stepping up with us should we get there. Travis would be a great pick up for either of those clubs he’s linked with though.

I do fear our obsession (for want of a better word) to get in Premiership ready players for next season may actually end up costing us promotion.

I want us to get in players who can get us up in the first place. We shouldn’t be taking that for granted.
