Again we don't know BUT , perhaps he's come down here got a feel for the place and made his intentions clear saying if no Prem club comes in then let's get it done
Perhaps far fetched but just another angle - the player is in the driving seat here as he knows he's at least wanted by a team who should be challenging for promotion so therefore keeps us hanging on rightly or wrongly but if he's at the top of our list we're going to hang around ....for a bit | |

Boro definitely want/need him sold but I guess like Omari he's waited out a Prem move, which hasn't transpired in his case.

I don't think the club agree with me as I assume our right 10s will be Szmodics, Akpom and Chaplin... but I do worry about the profiles of those players now Omari has gone.
Chaplin has shown he fits the system well. The other 2 feel more like goal scorers to me - which is fine... however I worry about our ability to unlock deep blocks and deal with intense presses. Do they have the skills to take care of the ball or find a pass? Will we find those skills in midfielders or wide men instead? Time will tell.
I think striker is done with Hirst, Azon and Akpom though. | | | |

Well we only practically have one loan spot left now - I know we can have more than 5 but can't see we will want to do that and leave one out of the squad each week. Therefore, we are going to have to do a couple of chunky permanent deals now you would think to get the required quality in. Not sure we go big on another 9 after signing Azon, but still need another 10 and a CM for sure.

I would say that when Azon signs, that would take care of the striker unit with 3 good options with Akpom & Hirst, baring in mind you can only ever play one at a time, which is why the Akpom one works well as he can play in a variety of positions.
I think we need a Broadhead replacement, someone who can play in the 10/ left 10 with a bit more craft and quality on the ball as well as a direct right winger and we all know we need another central midfielder, then there's the question over left back cover, whether we've got enough within the squad.
Have a feeling that Doak might be a stretch to far with PL suitors ahead of us.
Will need to sign at least one under 21 player to make it work, with potential outgoings / tough decisions of who is included in the 25. |  |
